In the Brookhaven City Council election meetings that PG has seen, the Pink Pony has a been a topic of discussion. Almost nobody wants the city to spend money trying to shut down the exotic dancing emporium. Some have wondered how who wanted this action taken in the first place.

On October 6, The Supreme Court of Georgia ruled in favor of Brookhaven. The club, which can afford lawyers, filed legal devices to stay open. Finally, in time for the election, the city decided to hold peace talks with the club.

Tuesday, the talks bore fruit. Brookhaven OKs ‘transition’ deal with Pink Pony. “The Brookhaven City Council on Tuesday agreed to a settlement deal with the Pink Pony that will allow the strip club to stay open and operate with nude dancing and serving alcohol during a six-year “transition” period to come into compliance with city ordinances.

In exchange, the Pink Pony will pay the police department $225,000 a year for the six years to cover public safety costs, reimburse the city for its legal fees, donate land near the club along Peachtree Creek for a city park, and contribute up to $75,000 for the park.”

Councilwoman Rebecca Chase Williams opposed the deal. She read a statement. “I am calling on my colleagues to not succumb to political pressure from a strip club. I consider any kind of payment outside of regular licensing fees to be a bribe. At no time has this effort been a religious or moral crusade. It is about having legal, constitutional laws and enforcing them.

Other cities have gone down this path, but settlements with strip clubs have led only to more litigation and problems. Today, the City of Houston, the City of El Paso, and Horry County, South Carolina (where Myrtle Beach is located) are in court because of settlement agreements with strip clubs from years ago. Other powerful strip clubs are suing, arguing that the city’s agreement to take money to ignore their laws is nothing but a bribe, and that it violates the Equal Protection clause of the US Constitution as well as federal anti-trust laws.”

A brief conversation with Mr. Google does not show any evidence of these lawsuits in Houston, El Paso, or Horry County. A search for “El Paso strip club lawsuit” uncovered Man Dies Getting Lap Dances At El Paso Strip Club “El Paso County sheriff’s officials said a 67-year-old man died at an El Paso County strip club Friday night. The manager at the Red Parrot strip club said that the man, identified by sheriff’s officials as Robert Gene White, was getting lap dances, but when it came time to pay the dancers, he was unresponsive.”

My Horry News does not seem to know about the case Mrs. Williams mentions. It does have a quote from “Scott Bergthold, a Tennessee lawyer who has been hired to represent the county … “They were bumping and grinding and rubbing their body parts on patrons. That’s not protected speech.”

Another version of the Brookhaven – Pink Pony detente came with the headline Despite bribe charge, Brookhaven folds on Pink Pony case. “In an astounding turn of events, the Brookhaven city council has surrendered to the Pink Pony strip club and will allow it to operate for six years in defiance of the city’s ordinance on sexually oriented businesses and in return for $250,000 a year to the city.” This article was written by Dick Williams, the husband of Rebecca Chase Williams.

Mr. Williams used to write for the fishwrapper. He said some interesting things in the recent report. “Mayors of several other cities were contacted and opposed the Brookhaven action but would not comment on the record. One who did not wish to be identified said, “If I want to sell drugs in Brookhaven, can I just pay the city a fee and set up shop?” A call to the FBI, which has prosecuted strip club owners in several cities, wasn’t returned.”

The City of Brookhaven allows alcohol to be served. In facilities where the employees keep their clothes on, there is no legal harassment. Alcohol is a drug. The misuse of alcohol can have serious consequences. Alcohol users have legal privileges. Indeed, if a person wants to sell legal drugs in Brookhaven, they can just pay the city a fee, and set up shop.

Monica Lewinsky And Jay Bakker

Political correspondent Monica Samille Lewinsky gave a speech recently. The venue was the Under 30 Summit, sponsored by Forbes magazine. MSL has something in common with Malcolm Forbes.

If you are looking for a mature discussion of the courage displayed by the forty something MSL, perhaps you should look elsewhere. If something good should turn up, then it will be an accident. This is going to be just as tacky as the MSM coverage, of young MSL.

The speech begins with the correspondent saying “My name is Monica Lewinsky.” In the runup to a recent Georgia execution, a popular slogan was “I am Troy Davis.” More recently, a photo appeared of a man, allegedly a Missouri policeman, with a wrist band saying “I am Darren Wilson.” If someone were to market shirts with the slogan “I am Monica Lewinsky,” it might be a popular item.

The speech is nothing to be excited about. MSL was treated dirty online, but her family helped her get through it. Tyler Clementi had a bad online experience, and did not deal with it as well. We should quit bullying each other, and play nice.

MSL is on twitter, with three tweets and 73.5k followers. @MonicaLewinsky social activist. public speaker. contributor to vanity fair. knitter of things without sleeves. The three tweets: #HereWeGo ~ excited (and nervous) to speak to #Under30Summit ~ #gratitude #overwhelmed #thankyou

After listening to the entire message from MSL, PG was feeling less snarky. Bullying and shaming is hurtful. The pride that people take in hurting people is disgusting. (Anti Racists should take heed, but probably will not.) It was tough to know which way to go with this commentary.

Jay Bakker retweeted ‏@RyanMiller Excellent podcast on Love, justice, mercy, chaos, Driscoll & forgiveness with @jaybakker & @JosefGustafsson

When the PTL club petered out, Jay Bakker was a kid. He went through a similar public humiliation as MSL, only he was just the son of the guilty parties. Mr. Bakker has gone on to a career of his own as a professional Jesus worshiper. This is not always an honorable calling.

At the seven minute mark of the linked podcast, Mr. Bakker said: “At a certain point you have to take responsibility for yourself. and realize that you weren’t completely manipulated into a situation. The weird situation is people want to blame these leaders but at the same time we have to remember that we followed them.” No claim of inerrancy is made for this transcript.

PG was only able to listen to thirty five minutes of the podcast. At some point, Mr. Bakker said the church was losing relevance because of some, probably gay related, issue. Mr. Bakker said it was sad. PG, on the other hand, is thrilled that the cult of Jesus worship is losing relevance.

One of the youtubers had a biblical comment about MSL. Proverbs 30:20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness. MSL was not married when employed by the government. Pictures are from “The Special Collections and Archives, Georgia State University Library”.

BO And JS Promote Privilege

Bill O’Reilly recently appeared on a tv show hosted by Jon Stewart. BO was promoting a book. JS was trying to make money. They call it show business.

The alleged topic of discussion was the murky concept of white privilege. The Jew, and the Irishman, shouted over each other for a few minutes, until it was time for a commercial break. At this point, they held hands and sang Kumbaya. Some people thought it was cool, while others were not so sure.

BO likes to whine about the “War on Christmas” every year. The solstice holiday should be about Jesus. Anyone who disagrees is a poopyhead. Does BO benefit from Christian Privilege?

An unintentionally ironic moment came when JS was reciting his white privilege talking points. “White people do more drugs in this country than black people but black people make up a far higher majority of drug arrests.” Holy meme, Batman.

The war on drugs hurts a lot of people. POC may indeed have it tougher than PWOC. The problem with racializing the war on drugs is that you tend to reinforce the status quo.

It is the old divide and conquer. Get the white people, and black people, fighting each other, and the government fucks everybody. If you make the war on drugs a race issue, you will divide the people. Instead of presenting a united front against the war on drugs, people are fighting over who is hurt by it more. The alcohol industry enjoys the spectacle.

Both BO and JS are employed by the corporate media. This industry is supported by advertising revenue, significantly from the alcohol industry. Those who sell adult beverages benefit from the war on drugs. The alcohol industry enjoys its legal monopoly. The alcohol industry, and alcohol users, enjoy legal privilege. The black people in prison are just a cost of doing business.

This feature started with a tweet:
@MaxBlau Alternate title: Braves working “every day” to ignore public transit plan for new stadium. There is a link to an article, Braves working ‘every day’ on a parking plan for new stadium.
Braves executive vice president of business operations Mike Plant gave a luncheon presentation to some chamber of commerce types about the new ballpark. His lips were probably moving.

“they expect a game will attract about 10,000 cars. All of those will not arrive or depart at the same time. The stadium is used for baseball games only about 55 weeknights over a five-month period. “the impact is minimal… a lot of our fans will be coming from the north.””

The idea is that the 75/285 interchange is closer to the center of where the team’s fan base lives. The truth is that the site is on the western edge of this fan base. People in Gwinnett County will be just as far away from the Braves as they are with the team downtown. The only difference is the presence of rail transportation to downtown. When the team becomes the Cobb Crackers, the only way to get there will be by automobile and bus.

The impending disaster of traffic, and parking, is painfully obvious to anyone not on the Braves payroll. There will be lots of time to curse this decision while you sit in traffic. There was another comment in the article, which displays the lack of commonsense planning of this operation.

“The new stadium will differ in other ways from many major league venues, he said. It’ll face a different direction. “It’ll be a different position than Turner Field, with the outfield facing southwest. A left fielder might have a little bit of a challenge late in the day, but that’s what we pay them for.””

Traditionally, the baseball diamond has been set up with home plate in the south west corner. This began when all games were played in the afternoon. The idea is to minimize the effects of the sun.

As the linked chart shows, Turner field uses the traditional layout. Many of the other clubs do not. With most games played at night, it is not as big an issue as before.

It is tough to figure out exactly where Sun Trust Park will fit in. The site is, like most of Atlanta, a mass of hills and woods. There are high rise office buildings already there. It seems like the team is trying to fit a diamond shaped peg into a triangular hole. The results are likely to be uncomfortable. Pictures today are from The Library of Congress.

A Trillion Dollars

Posted in History, Library of Congress, Politics by chamblee54 on October 10, 2014

This piece is selections from previously published material. The full post of part one is available, if you are interested in stories about Richard Nixon and Antonin Scalia. One part we are using today is about Ronald Reagan, and the federal budget. Federal finances have been in the news lately, and Congress has made a bad situation worse. Pictures are from The Library of Congress.

… The last quote is from another POTUS who is no longer with us, Ronald Reagan.
“I am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.” Mr. Reagan was a professional actor, and he knew the value of a good script.
This slogan is another one that Mr. Obama may find handy. It should be noted that it was a big deal when the national debt (the grand total of the deficits) went over a trillion dollars. This was during the first term of Mr. Reagan. Today, under Mr. Obama, the annual deficit is over a trillion dollars. Sooner or later, you are talking about real money.

PG suffered brain damage trying to find out more about the quote from Mr. Reagan. He went through six pages of google. There must be 25 sites which have lists of quotes from Mr. Reagan, and all of them feature this quote. None have an actual source.

What was the context? When did he first say it? One site says it was “(during the latter years of his administration)”. Another site says it was “Said often during his presidency, 1981-1989”. Maybe this is an urban legend. As Mr. Reagan said, don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

Those of a certain age remember Everett Dirksen. A Republican Senator from Illinois, he was blessed with an operatic voice, and cursed with a face that could stop a clock. He is credited (or blamed) for the quote ” A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you’re talking real money.” The Dirksen Congressional Center can neither confirm nor deny if he really said that. The discussion of this reputed quote does turn up a passage, that is germane to today’s conversation.
“One time in the House of Representatives [a colleague] told me a story about a proposition that a teacher put to a boy. He said, ‘Johnny, a cat fell in a well 100 feet deep. Suppose that cat climbed up 1 foot and then fell back 2 feet. How long would it take the cat to get out of the well?’
“Johnny worked assiduously with his slate and slate pencil for quite a while, and then when the teacher came down and said, ‘How are you getting along?’ Johnny said, ‘Teacher, if you give me another slate and a couple of slate pencils, I am pretty sure that in the next 30 minutes I can land that cat in hell. If some people get any cheer out of a $328 billion debt ceiling, I do not find much to cheer about concerning it.” [Congressional Record, June 16, 1965, p. 13884].

Senator Dirksen went to the fundraising dinner in the sky September 7, 1969. Twelve years later, the Reagan revolution was getting started. Taxes were cut, and spending increased. In a couple of years, the national debt went over a trillion dollars. (The annual budget deficit is now over a trillion dollars.) For those new to the game, a trillion is a billion, multiplied by a thousand. For all the numbers above, multiply by a thousand, to get a trillion.

In 1965, Senator Dirksen was losing sleep, over raising the national debt to $328 billion. The current national debt is estimated at $16,964,687,666,420. This is 5171% of 328 billion.

In 1965, the national debt was $328 billion, and we were losing 100 men every week in Vietnam. One of the more expensive things the government does is fight wars. Currently we are officially killing people in Afghanistan, and several more countries that no one knows about (nudge wink).
On September 11, 2001, The United States was attacked. Revenge was the order of the day. There are now indications that this was one of the goals of Al Queda. The Soviet Union imploded, in large part, because of the strain of fighting a war in Afghanistan. Now, the United States is waist deep in the same big muddy. Whoever is elected in 2016 will have to deal with this matter.

Afghanistan has a gross national product of $27billion. The Congressional Research Service estimates the cost of American operations in Afghanistan for 2011 to be $119 billion. This is over four times the gross national product of Afghanistan. Pretty soon, you are talking about real money. This is a repost.

Dick Nixon TV Critic

Posted in History, Library of Congress, Politics by chamblee54 on October 3, 2014

The text below is a conversation between Mr. Nixon, John D. Ehrlichman, and H. R. Haldeman. The tape was made May 13, 1971. This is a repost. Pictures are from The Library of Congress.

NIXON: … CBS … glorifying homosexuality.

EHRLICHMAN: A panel show?

H. R. HALDEMAN: No, it’s a regular show. It’s on every week. It’s usually just done in the guy’s home. It’s usually just that guy, who’s a hard hat.

NIXON: That’s right; he’s a hard hat.

EHRLICHMAN: He always looks like a slob.

NIXON: Looks like Jackie Gleason.

HALDEMAN: He has this hippie son-in-law, and usually the general trend is to downgrade him and upgrade the son-in-law–make the square hard hat out to be bad. But a few weeks ago, they had one in which the guy, the son-in-law, wrote a letter to you, President Nixon, to raise hell about something. And the guy said, “You will not write that letter from my home!” Then said, “I’m going to write President Nixon,” took off all those sloppy clothes, shaved, and went to his desk and got ready to write his letter to President Nixon. And apparently it was a good episode.

EHRLICHMAN: What’s it called?

NIXON: “Archie’s Guys.” Archie is sitting here with his hippie son-in-law, married to the screwball daughter. The son-in-law apparently goes both ways. This guy. He’s obviously queer–wears an ascot–but not offensively so. Very clever. Uses nice language. Shows pictures of his parents. And so Arch goes down to the bar. Sees his best friend, who used to play professional football. Virile, strong, this and that. Then the fairy comes into the bar. I don’t mind the homosexuality. I understand it. Nevertheless, goddamn, I don’t think you glorify it on public television, homosexuality, even more than you glorify whores. We all know we have weaknesses. But, goddammit, what do you think that does to kids? You know what happened to the Greeks! Homosexuality destroyed them. Sure, Aristotle was a homo. We all know that. So was Socrates.

EHRLICHMAN: But he never had the influence television had.

NIXON: You know what happened to the Romans? The last six Roman emperors were fags. Neither in a public way. You know what happened to the popes? They were layin’ the nuns; that’s been goin’ on for years, centuries. But the Catholic Church went to hell three or four centuries ago. It was homosexual, and it had to be cleaned out. That’s what’s happened to Britain. It happened earlier to France. Let’s look at the strong societies. The Russians. Goddamn, they root ’em out. They don’t let ’em around at all. I don’t know what they do with them. Look at this country. You think the Russians allow dope? Homosexuality, dope, immorality, are the enemies of strong societies. That’s why the Communists and left-wingers are clinging to one another. They’re trying to destroy us. I know Moynihan will disagree with this, and Mitchell will. But, goddamn, we have to stand up to this.

EHRLICHMAN: It’s fatal liberality.

NIXON: Huh?

EHRLICHMAN: It’s fatal liberality. And with its use on television, it has such leverage.

NIXON: You know what’s happened [in northern California]?

EHRLICHMAN: San Francisco has just gone clear over.

NIXON: But it’s not just the ratty part of town. The upper class in San Francisco is that way. The Bohemian Grove, which I attend from time to time–it is the most faggy goddamned thing you could ever imagine, with that San Francisco crowd. I can’t shake hands with anybody from San Francisco. … Decorators. They got to do something. But we don’t have to glorify it. You know one of the reasons fashions have made women look so terrible is because the designers hate women. Designers taking it out on the women. Now they’re trying to get some more sexy things coming on again.

EHRLICHMAN: Hot pants.

NIXON: Jesus Christ.

Some time it just doesn’t pay to look at twitter. PG was downloading pictures from “The Special Collections and Archives, Georgia State University Library”, the source of the pictures that go with this report. This requires being connected to the internet. This also means temptation, in the form of facebook, twitter, tv listings, weather radar, and the growing collection of sites where PG is banned.
So this man, The Field Negro, likes to tweet. Field is a Philadelphia lawyer, who likes to “call out” racism. Like in this tweet. @fieldnegro Maybe Boston Herald Cartoonist’s Dumb Watermelon Joke Was Just a Mistake via @intelligencer Or maybe it was racism.
There was a cartoon in a Boston newspaper. A man is taking a bath, while BHO brushes his teeth. The man says “Have you tried the new watermelon flavored toothpaste? The cartoonist was thinking of a brand of watermelon flavored toothpaste from Colgate.
PG gets whatever is cheapest to rub against his teeth. He asked Mr. Google about watermelon flavored toothpaste. Some of the related searches were scotch flavored toothpaste, coffee flavored toothpaste, flavored toothpaste for kids, flavored toothpaste for dogs, and weird flavored toothpaste.
As some have noted, BHO is a dark skinned man, with an African father. There is a stereotype about African Americans and watermelon. The fact that millions of PWOC also enjoy watermelon is not important. What is important is an opportunity to call out racism. Twitter is up to the task.
@tanehisicoates Get it? It’s funny because of the original, and informative, insight that only black people like watermelon.
@tanehisicoatesSorry, cartoonist claiming the “racial element” was nowhere in his head is lying. Lying is a thing that humans do. So is racism.
@CultureInStereo That is outrageous. My GOD. Where is the decency…
@Freefree0Bobbie Jesus, can we as a country sink any lower?
@keylimepolitic @CharlesMBlow @Greg_Reibman @bostonherald This is THE most messed up cartoon ever! ARE YOU SERIOUS? #NoRespect!
@GregT2U2 @CharlesMBlow @Greg_Reibman @bostonherald Boston Herald read Julia Pierson and follow suggestions offered. FIRE THE Cartoonist! Watermelon
‏@clapifyoulikeme You say unfortunate, I say racist…let’s call the whole thing off.
@clapifyoulikeme @Greg_Reibman @bostonherald By “whole thing” I mean, “systemic racism”.
‏@twitfe @CharlesMBlow @Greg_Reibman @bostonherald I have nvr seen so much disrespect in terms of a POTUS who just happens to be black. ridiculous!

PG used to work with someone, who we will call Fred. This person contracted some sort of cancer, and died nine days after nine eleven. Fred, the son of Holocaust Survivors, was probably the most Jewish person that PG has known. Fred was generous with his opinions. While no claim is made to having access to secret information, these opinions gave an insight into a certain pattern of thought. Some of these attitudes continue to this day, with other situations.

The employment related association took place between 1985 and 1989. This was during the Iran Iraq war. It was felt by many that those were two evil countries, that should be allowed to fight each other as long as possible. When they were fighting each other, they were not a threat to Israel. Fred enthusiastically endorsed this idea. “Yes they should. It is for your benefit. It will prevent terrorism”.

Hundreds of thousands of young men died in that war. Iraq got worn out by the fighting, and resorted to the use of chemical weapons. Iraq also ran up a large debt to Kuwait. In an effort to cancel that debt, Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990. That set in motion a cycle of violence and revenge that still plagues the United States.

Today, there is much fighting in Syria. There are some who say that with Hezbollah fighting Al Queda, they are both bad actors. Let them kill each other as much as they want. Again, when they fight each other, they will leave Israel alone.

The carnage in Syria, with the government killing thousands of it’s citizens, brings to mind another Fred story. In 1989, China brutally repressed demonstrators asking for more rights. On the monday after the massacre, Fred commented that the Soviet Union was sorry. They wanted to do this killing themselves. Could this be how Israel feels about the killing in Syria? This is a repost. Pictures are from “The Special Collections and Archives,Georgia State University Library”.

Sometimes a story comes along that you can’t help but comment on. The story is about a pro basketball team, the Atlanta Hawks. This franchise has all the appeal of watching paint dry, but without the intoxicating fumes. This story has all the elements.

The four elements are earth, air, fire, and water. Earth and water combine to make mud. RACIST is the mudslinging term of choice in 2014 Amerika. The arena where the Hawks perform is built the empty air over the railroad tracks.

Maybe this story only has three of the four elements. If anyone cared about the Hawks, there might be fire. This team has never been past the second round of the playoffs in forty odd Georgia years. Pro basketball in Georgia is as much fun as getting pulled over by the police.

RACISM starts it off. Every story about the Hawks idiot owner has the word RACIST in the headline. Long forgotten jocks weigh in on twitter. An eyesore mayor talks to the fishwrapper.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar @kaj33 Atlanta Hawks owner Bruce Levenson isn’t a racist-he’s a businessman. Read my thoughts @TIME

Dominique Wilkins ‏@DWilkins21 Thank you to all my fans and concerned Hawks community. Please be patient with me. I will be commenting on the recent Hawks news shortly.

The affair started when Hawks general manager Danny Ferry was discussing which free agents to sign. This is where you offer a player lots of money to come play for your team. This player will make more money for playing a game six months than the typical ticket buyer will make in a lifetime. In this case, it was a “a highly-regarded African-American player and humanitarian” named Luol Deng. The hraapah in question is from Sudan. How he got to be african-american is tmi.

When the story broke, no one knew what was said about hraapah. Inquiring minds want to know. “he has a little African in him. Not in a bad way, but he’s like a guy who would have a nice store out front but sell you counterfeit stuff out the back.”

This comment led to an investigation. “An Atlanta law firm conducted 19 interviews and turned up more than 24,000 internal documents, including the email that Levenson cited when he announced his decision to sell the team.” This will cost enough to pay for a humanitarian free agent.

The story broke last sunday. The idiot owner of the Hawks, Bruce Levenson, “self reported” to the NBA a numbskull email about increasing attendance at Hawk games. The email may, or may not, be RACIST. Persistent rumors have it that Mr. Levenson wants to jack up the price of his team. This is a curious marketing strategy. It worked for Donald Sterling. Having your adulterous gf spill the beans is not as much fun as self reporting.

The email in question is bizarre. You are trying to sell pro basketball in a football town. The team plays downtown, across the street from the fifth most dangerous neighborhood in amerika. It is also the site of the Blank Bowl, with billions of dollars being invested in a new football stadium. You have to wonder about the values of our society.

This post is going on past the attention span of most readers. If you like, you can read the email for yourself. Do you need to know if it is RACIST? You might want to ask why you care. The pictures are from The Library of Congress The pictures are from the Farm Services Administration. America did not spend millions of dollars on humanitarian basketball players in those days.

Jay Bakker was the guest on WTF podcast today. In case you are new here, Jay is the son of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker. He was a kid when their empire imploded, and had a tough time dealing with it.

After a few years as an alcoholic, among other vices, Mr. Bakker found some scripture that he agreed with. He decided to preach. His view of the bible is different from most mainstream believers, with an emphasis on grace and acceptance. The church is currently in Minnesota. There are plans to maybe have an online based ministry, with no geographic location.

While the teaching of Jay Bakker is different from most churches, some of the basic assumptions are the same. He talks about the teachings of Jesus, who he calls Christ. He finds what he wants to see in the bible. (The be fair, Mr. Bakker said that his view is expanding all the time. He apparently is thinking, and is open to new possibilities.)

To PG, this is mistaken. The bible is a book assembled by man, with all the mistakes that men are capable of making. It is not the complete story about G-d. It is also not the complete story about Jesus. All we know about Jesus is what the Council of Nicea wants to tell us.

In a way, this continues in the Jim and Tammy Faye tradition. The PTL club was basically a friendly place. They were about love, instead of the meanness distributed by so many other Jesus worshipers. These are not the people who taught PG that Jesus hates him. Unfortunately, there was some financial tomfoolery. Maybe money is the root of all evil.

While listening to this show, PG was editing pictures from The Library of Congress. Some of these pictures are posted here today. When WTF was over, PG checked in to see if the latest offering from Matt Walsh was up. Holy synchronicity, Batman.

The story today is a denunciation of Joel Osteen. Mr. Walsh does not think that Mr. Osteen is correct in his approach . Phrases like “wonderful blasphemy” and “indefensible teaching” are tossed around. Scripture is quoted. What you see in the bible says more about you than it does G-d, or Joel Osteen.

Here is a quote. “In more primitive times they burned heretics at the stake. Now we greet the blasphemers with applause and multi-million dollar book deals. I’m not sure if the latter response is any more enlightened than the former, but both are wrong.”

When you go to the Matt Walsh piece, you might get a popup ad (irony alert.) The headline reads Is this the end of Viagra? The product is an ED drug. “… the adult industry so excited about Vydox … to make it a mandatory supplement part of every actors pre filming routine.”

UPDATE: After this feature was published, PG went to Facebook to promote it. He learned of the passing of Joan Rivers. May she rest in peace. There was also a link to something that seems connected with a post, about a Jesus worshiper trashing a wealthier Jesus worshiper over theocratic style. The post is The 30 Harshest Comedian-on-Comedian Insults in History.
