@jordanbpeterson “And the immature impulsive hedonism continue, unabated: possession by basic biological drive elevated into object of unconscious worship. The worst of an emergent polytheistic paganism. With all the requisite pseudo-intellectual jargon.” @trogmignon I can think of few people less qualified to speak on this matter than JBP.”

Dr. Peterson has a way with words. The author of the seminal piece, @MichelleLhooq, replied “The worst of an emergent polytheistic paganism” is definitely the most based epithet anyone has ever blessed me with, and for that I will be forever grateful to fellow pseudo-intellectual JP.”

We need to talk about chemsex is the feature at the amphetaminated heart of this kerfluffle. Before pasting purple party prose, a note on usage is in order. I have long been aware of gay men using drugs to speed up the process. The phrase I always hear is pnp, or party and play. (When you see pnp in a profile, you can assume two things. They take drugs, and you are buying.) In none of these profiles do you see “chemsex.” Maybe chemsex is an LA thing.

The article that triggered Dr. Benzos was not your traditional pearl-clutching. The author, Michelle Lhooq (Pronounced Michelle Luke) is the author of the RaveNewWorld.Substack and Weed: Everything You Want to Know But Are Always Too Stoned to Ask. Lady Lhooq was up to the task, and had receipts. One especially lurid link was “Critical chemsex studies: Interrogating cultures of sexualized drug use beyond risk paradigm.”

“What was remarkable was the diversity of not just age, gender, and racial identities in the room, but the breadth of psychoactive experiences across the sober-using spectrum — from former heroin junkies to professionals who’ve never touched a drug, devout AA members to party-loving recreational ravers, underground psychedelic healers to sober-curious skaters. …

“AA’s dogma of total drug abstinence does not appeal to everybody, and many are hungry for alternatives. New groups such as The Infernal Grove now cater to those seeking more sustainable relationships to substance use beyond the established orthodoxy of traditional sobriety paradigms. Despite the necessity of these alternative paths, I had been afraid that the chemsex discussion would be seen as problematic or triggering. Conversations about drugs usually play out as a moral drama of extremes: the anti-drug abstinence of AA vs the drug-positive enthusiasm of recreational settings. It is still so rare to enter a thought space where sobriety is discussed as more of a spectrum, where the ambiguous zones of druggie disinhibition can be untangled by people from all over the drug-sober continuum. It felt like the future.”

“The movement to destigmatise chemsex is … still in its infancy. As a woman, I am also not the traditional demographic that is typically “allowed” to even discuss this concept … In fact, Stuart has accused folks who use this term but do not identify as gay men of cultural appropriation … It could also help us to understand how this practice reflects the historical and social contexts from which they emerge — including the pharmaceuticalisation of sexuality, contemporary culture of endless self-enhancement, and crisis of intimacy under neoliberal individualism.”

“THE WORST OF AN EMERGENT POLYTHEISTIC PAGANISM” “How my essay on druggy orgies triggered Jordan Peterson/FOX News’ latest satanic spiral.” After @jordanbpeterson scored a few FOX points, Lady Lhooq published a reply at her Substack, RaveNewWorld. “When an editor from UnHerd reached out to me in December asking if I could turn my latest RaveNewWorld post on chemsex into an essay for their site, my main concern was whether I’d be able to squeeze the assignment in between building a pussy portal for my shroom rave.”

“The reply-guys seemed to fall into three camps: people who think chemsex should stay stigmatized (white Christians and dudes with lots of numbers in their usernames); people who couldn’t believe that “drug journalist” was a real beat (mostly meme shitposters); and homophobic monkeypox truthers slinging incel slurs about my fuckability (my personal fave). … That this assignment for an outlet that claims to be post-partisan turned out to be the ultimate trigger for satanic-slaying conservative cucks was the ultimate irony.”

michellelhooq “SO MUSH LOVE 2 MY 2 SURROGATE MOMS Ophelia and Teresa for building @enter.the.mushwomb’s beautiful pussy portal!!! Incredible to have two mothers with Hollywood film backgrounds working on this together; I just told them “I don’t want this to be a perfect porn pussy and I DEFINITELY want it to be hairy” and they took it from there – even adding a magical clit (now you really have no excuse not to find it 😂) Plus, since these are moms who always think about safety, they also made sure the portal didn’t block the exit in case there was an emergency. T+O YALL ARE MY SOUL MODELS TYSM FOR THIS PERFECT PUSSY!!!”

The pictures today are from The Library of Congress. These details are from picture #06666, documenting “First Internation[al] Pageant of Pulchritude & Seventh Annual Bathing Girl Review at Galveston, Texas.” It was taken in 1926.

This is a repost from 2016. There was a radio show yesterday. The actors were Jason Whitlock & Shaun King. It was tough to listen to. The two actors interrupted each other, and engaged in ad hominem arguments. At one point Mr. King, whose ethnicity is disputed, shouted “I’m blacker than you.” In twitter messages, Mr. King called Mr. Whitlock a “Tom ass bastard” who “will coon for cash.”

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton got media attention before Super Bowl 50. Mr. Newton had a spectacular season, leading the Carolina Cougers to SB50. On the other hand, Mr. Newton seems to be a bit of a “hot dog.” “I’ve said this since Day One, I’m an African-American quarterback that scares people because they haven’t seen nothing that they can compare me to.”

In SB50, Denver beat Carolina. It was an ugly, defense dominated game. A week later, Mr. King published a story with dirt on Denver quarterback Peyton Manning. As Mr. Whitlock sees it, trashing Mr. Manning was revenge for Denver beating Carolina in the SB50.

If true, this is ugly. The idea seems to be that a team with a black quarterback was whipped by a team with a white quarterback, so you get even by publishing dirt on the white quarterback. It is also stupid. Mr. Manning didn’t play that well in SB50. It was the Denver defense that shut down Cam Newton. If you are going to get revenge, it should be against the Denver defense. The only problem is that they are not well known names, and will not get the attention that bashing Mr. Manning will get. Nor will it fit the racial narrative … of eleven starters on the Denver defense, ten are black.

Pictures are from “The Special Collections and Archives, Georgia State University Library”. Some of the pictures are from “the morality play “Heaven Bound,” staged by the Big Bethel African Methodist Choir, at the Atlanta Theatre (23 Exchange Place), Atlanta, Georgia, August 1937.”

What Would Jesus Sue?

Posted in Library of Congress, Undogegorized by chamblee54 on February 11, 2023

This repost is a redacted twitfest transcript, about Jesus. If you are not interested, you can skip over the text, and look at the pictures. These pictures are from The Library of Congress. Jack Delano took the pictures in November, 1940. The pictures were taken in Connecticut.

‏ @wartwatch The only thing that matters veto these churches is $$$$$. They must be sued and they must pay a penalty in order to make an impact.
@chamblee54 What would Jesus Sue?
@SimeonTheFool If only there was some way to know for sure whether Jesus would approve of causing financial damage on religious leaders who made money by exploiting others. Like, if He’d ever famously done it Himself or something….
@chamblee54 “only there was some way to know for sure”
Everything that Jesus did, or did not do, is legend. Everything.
The only things we know about Jeeziepoo are what the council of nicea chose to tell us.
@SimeonTheFool Tua eruditione praestantem es minus habens. Cede studere historia. (Your scholarship is not good enough. Please go to study history.)
@chamblee54 Your arrogance is not good enough. Please go to study humility.
(The Council of Nicaea did not discuss the Bible rule. This is humility because it is true. Arrogance says “Jesus”. Thank you for your effort.)
@chamblee54 you have been educated beyond your ability to use knowledge in a meaningful way
אַל־ תַּ֣עַן כְּ֭סִיל כְּאִוַּלְתֹּ֑ו פֶּֽן־ תִּשְׁוֶה־ לֹּ֥ו גַם־ את׃ (This is apparently backwards.)
@chamblee54 Do not give it to the people, but to the people of the land. I am throwing in the translator You win You will collect your winnings when the cardboard cookies are finished baking
@SimeonTheFool “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you become like him.”
@chamblee54 this religious argument has now moved into the personal insult phase I must be dealing with christians
@wartwatch I used to read over at ExChristians They do a pretty good job with insults as well. 😇
@chamblee54 This will teach me not to make a joke about a beloved xtian cliche

At this point I made a mistake. I went for a walk, and thought about this conversation.

@chamblee54 one point has not been challenged… whether it was the council of nicea, or the 7 ecumenical councils, there was a human gatekeeper Some humans chose the texts to include in the bible This is the primary source of stories about jesus christian insults cannot change that
@SimeonTheFool Sorry, but you’re misinformed. Basic history facts: 1. The Council of Nicea was one of the 7 Ecumenical Councils (the first), not “or.” 2. The canon of Scripture was not discussed at any of them. 3. Paul’s epistles as well as the four gospels predate all of them by centuries.
@chamblee54 ok who decided what texts go in the bible? was it man or g-d? there were many texts, other than the letters of paul, that were not included. Who made this decision?
@chamblee54 you did not answer my question there were dozens of texts which were not included in the canon who chose these texts?
@SimeonTheFool Oh, but I did answer your question. The answer is, “Go do your own homework.”

This debate raged on, long past the point of being either educational or entertaining. St. Simeon the Holy Fool claims to have a PhD from a “large secular state university.” If you are interested, you can use one of the links in this feature to join in the fun.
One other celebrant chimed in. This is a recent convert to twitterism. They have a handful of followers, and have not made any original tweets.

‏ @MRWiggins2 So if this is the case, if everything’s just pure legend, nonsense, myth, why do you even care to speculate as to who He would sue? I dare say, sir, you are a bit confused.
@chamblee54 that was a parody of “what would jesus do”
@MRWiggins2 When a fool gets rolling, just get out of their way. Luther’s one of these people not clever enough to realize he’s not clever. Dangerous thing, when you are essentially a combo platter of arrogance and ignorance.
@MRWiggins2 You can’t even communicate at a mediocre level. Mea culpas if you’re a 13 year old boy in the nascent stage of his rebellion phase. Otherwise, please learn to write & reason. Don’t just be a confirmation of the stereotype of the atheist not smart enough to see they’re not smart.
@chamblee54 as opposed to xtians whose conversation turns into puerile insults instinctively
@chamblee54 you talk pretty good for a person who has not tweeted yet
@MRWiggins2 I didn’t know that was a requirement. I’m not a big social media guy.
@MRWiggins2 Au contraire. I don’t claim to understand the workings of the universe,
I just know Jesus saved me–a small, ignorant thing who doesn’t even understand his teenagers.
OTOH, those who claim there is no God must be supernaturally knowledgeable to make such an extraordinary claim.
(At no time in this discussion did I discuss the reputed existence of g-d.)

Junk To Smithereens

Posted in Library of Congress, Undogegorized by chamblee54 on February 9, 2023

This is a repost from 2017. @JonathanLKrohn “This is quite possibly the worst thing I’ve ever read. The person who wrote this should be barred from ever writing again. If you could burn emails, I would recommend burning this one with a blow-torch, and scattering the ashes deep in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean.” This pastel performance got PG’s attention on a boring Saturday. It actually was value added comment to a re-tweet.

“The PR email for Meghan Trainor’s new album is absolutely insane” was the seminal offering. @WizzKhaleesi had a screen shot of the special text. “”hot newlywed sex Meghan and Daryl Sa-BAE-ra are having (did you see what we did there?). Which is why you’ll love the banging’ single “All The Ways.” Billboard was wet for “All The Ways,” calling it “another fun, danceable track to fall in love with.” And would Billboard lie to you, girl?

But perhaps the piece de resistance (that’s French for “Wig Snatch”) is “Marry Me,” a romantic acoustic guitar and ukulele-tinged Awww Fest which delivers all the feels (and then more feels). Meghan wrote the song thirty days after meeting Daryl, and it was so good that she walked down the aisle to it. We know, it’s a little bit #Vomworthy, but also, am I chopping onions right now or are those tears rolling down my face?”

PG saw this purple prose, and felt the need to make a statement. The result was a blackout poem. “But Wig Snatch all the feels We know chopping onions.” As a wise man once said, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”

Who is Meghan Trainor? Why Is This Meghan Trainor Press Release So Horny? has the text of the PR sensation. The first sentence will live forever. “Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and whether you’re planning on smashing bae’s junk to smithereens or making out with a pint of Phish Food, you need some fresh Valentine’s Day bops to get you in the mood for L♡VE.”

Help, This Meghan Trainor Press Release Is Haunting My Nightmares piles on with glee. “This happened with Thinx underwear’s deranged series of press releases, which used phrases like “Hey squirrelfran” and “astronaughty booty” in an effort to sell period underwear.”

Caroline Goldfarb claims to have written the Trainor train wreck. (Don’t let your mouse hover over the background of that page.) @hairoline A lot of people absolutely HATE the press release I wrote for Meghan Trainor and claim it seems like “a horny 12 year old with no writing experience” must have written it. Jokes on them because I’m actually a horny 28 year old with *some* writing experience @hairoline Trivia: The original draft had a line about Meghan buying sex toys with the ginger from Spy Kids but they took it out @hairoline I just had to block someone who said I deserved the electric chair for writing the horny Meghan Trainor press release, but jokes on them, cause I’m the one who got paid to say “smash bae’s junk to smithereens”

Jonathan L. Krohn had fifteen minutes of fame before he was fifteen years old. He is a journalist now, living in “Iraq and ATL, mostly.” Pictures for this post are from The Library of Congress. Jack Delano took the pictures in April, 1941. “Singing “Trying to Make a Hundred, Ninety-Nine and a Half Won’t Do” during the collection at Negro church in Heard County, Georgia”

Joe Rogan

Posted in Undogegorized by chamblee54 on February 8, 2023

This is a double repost from 2022. The first part was a response to a facebook comment. I posted the link, and the fbf deleted it. When I looked at the stats, NOBODY had seen the post. “Rudeness … isn’t the worst thing that can happen to a blogger. Being ignored is.” Andrew Sullivan

Chamblee54 oozes obsolescene, while Joseph James Rogan soldiers on. Joe is not more famous, and a few people are getting tired of him. JRE continues to have fascinating shows, as well as the occasional snoozefest. Nobody knows what the next few years will bring.

@BrandonLBradfor “… I give Rogan criticism but he’s just an idiot that’s willing to talk to people …” I typed “Joe Rogan is an idiot,” with the intention of adding “that knows how to listen. As soon as I hit the t in idiot, I got a popup warning: “Most Tweeters don’t post relies like this…” I edited the offending tweet. chamblee54 “Actually, Joe R**** is an i**** who is willing to listen to people. Twitter questioned my first reply. I censored the two words that were possibly offensive. If listen is offensive, then I am in trouble.” (I found this conversation using DuckDuckGo. Google does not always do the job. DDG is something I heard Joe Rogan talking about.) …

“Joe Rogan’s skillset consists solely of arrogance and a big mouth.” ~ “Who is this Joe Rogan person? I guess I’ll need to Google the guy, since I have never heard of him (except via Facebook posts written by people disgusted with whatever he’s been saying . . .) On the other hand, if I keep not knowing who he is, I can’t get all annoyed by whatever annoying things he’s been saying.” ~ “I had heard the name. Then saw enough about him on the news that I didn’t want to learn any more.”

I had heard enough. I decided to find something I enjoyed from Joe Rogan Experience, and post it as a response. “Black people didn’t know what plastic surgery was, so the deal was you take that government butter and you rub it on your titties on your ass and they said it’ll make it grow … that’s what we used to do back in the day.” Guests like Ms. Pat are the reason JRE is so much fun. Find stimulating guests, turn the microphone on, and get out of the way. The ability to sit back, and listen, is the opposite of “arrogance and a big mouth.”

“And at his worst, he’s dangerous.” ~ “How many people listened to this show, and then rubbed government butter on their titties?” ~ “Since his audience is predominantly straight white men, I’d say none.” ~ “He has a wide audience. How many women listened to this episode, and then used government butter on their titties?” ~ “You clearly don’t understand his demographic. And you’re creepily obsessed with government butter and titties, so this exchange is over.”

The exchange may be over, and the blog post will not take very long. If you want to skip over the next part, and look at the pictures, (from The Library of Congress,) you will be forgiven.

It is called critical thinking. People listening to Ms. Pat know she is an entertainer. You listen to her, get a good laugh, and go on with your life. The only thing dangerous is what your mama will do, when she finds out what you have been rubbing her government butter on your titties.

JRE does tackle serious issues. You should listen, and think for yourself. I heard about 45 minutes of the Robert Malone episode. A great deal of it was nonsense. One that rang true was the government prioritizing vaccines over treatment, with disastrous results. Typical is this story: Experts say monoclonal antibody treatment is not a substitute for COVID-19 vaccines.

The suspicion is that the covid industrial complex does not want you to think critically. The idea is to be good little sheep. Get the vaccine, wear a mask, and watch the government borrow $3t a year. Talk trash about anyone who does not salute the Pfizer-flag. When a popular entertainer questions the status quo, he must be ridiculed, along with anyone who listens. Part two is now availble.

“Your post has not received any views yet.” I posted a response to some negativity on facebook. The fbf deleted the link without comment. When you write something, and nobody reads it, the only logical thing to do is write more.

Part two is about why I listen to Joe Rogan Experience. In the 0204 post, I chose a bit of hilarious misinformation. I could have chosen any number of JRE guests. Bill Maher. Oliver Stone. Chuck Palahniuk. Bridget Phetasy. And a few hundred more. JRE is about the guests. Turn the microphone on, and get out of the way. The ability to listen is very disturbing to people who only know how to talk.

When you advanced google Rogan/chamblee54, one result is a video with Ted Nugent. Rogan asks Mr. Nugent which hand he uses on himself. Ted Nugent is an example of what some call the cafeteria approach. You take the tunes. You do not choose the opinions.

Bari Weiss is another personality, where you choose your dishes carefully. When she was on JRE, the first hour was a delight. Then, Ms. Weiss started to express her true feelings about Palestinians.

JRE has some remarkable stories, many of which are true. JRE is the first time I ever heard anyone talking about Fentanyl. Former CIA Agent Mike Baker is just one of many mind-blowing intelligence/military figures. Some of the stories about Charles Manson, and the Kennedy assassination, are impossible to verify, but highly plausible. There are also some hilarious adventures, and some of the grossest things imaginable. OTOH, some guests are boring.

Unfortunately, Joe is impressed by bullshitters. People get to running over at the mouth. Joe sits back, and enjoys it. “#1209 – Anthony Cumia “This is so much more fun to listen to than Jordan Peterson. Peterson ran his mouth at meth warp, and eventually made me turn the thing off in self defense. I wonder if there is a hierarchy thing going on with Peterson and Curnia. With Peterson, Rogan just sat back in awe, with certain exceptions. With Curnia, Rogan was an active part of the show. Was their an unspoken hierarchy at play there?”

Daryl Davis says that Warren Harding was sworn into the KKK, in the White House. I don’t think so. Johann Hari says that Judy Garland was a heroin addict. Not everyone believes this.

One notorious example of rhetoric rampage involves Sam Harris. He was discussing civilian casualties in Iraq, with Abby Martin. One said it was 200k, the other said 2 m. Either figure is way too high. That doesn’t stop Sam Harris from saying “you are drinking from a firehose of bullshit.”

Bret Weinstein & Pierre Kory was when JRE started to talk about Ivermectin. This might be where Rogan’s troubles began. There are some powerful, well funded, actors who do not want to have this conversation. It is like the suppression of medical marijuana. The powers-that-be decided that reefer was a dangerous drug, with no medical value. The only research that got funded was against using marijuana. Many people learned not to believe anything the authorities told them about drugs.

This erosion of trust is part of the problem. It does not help to have Rachel Maddow say things like “It has been promoted inexplicably by the popular podcaster Joe Rogan, for some reason. Okay? It has also been promoted by the snake oil online sales folks who brought you the threat of demon sperm and alien DNA, with the endorsement of then President Donald Trump.”

You have to pick what you believe, and what you enjoy. Nobody forces you to listen to anything, or to believe what you do hear. The cafeteria has a wide selection. Some of the items will nourish you, while some will make you fat. Some actors want you to eat only junk food.

Pictures today are from The Library of Congress. “Pauline Clyburn, rehabilitation client, and her children going to chop cotton. Manning, Clarendon County, South Carolina. June 1939. Photographer: Marion Post Wolcott.”

Parents Against Gun Violence have done it again. They issued a report, A few of the reasons people shot people in January, 2016. There are only 10 stories this month. In the cases where the actor is identified, 3 are white, and 3 are black. Pictures are from The Library of Congress.

The fun starts in Oklahoma, on New Years Morning. Some kids were ringing doorbells, and running away, a custom called Ding Dong Ditching. You know what happened. “The shooter has not been arrested and the Mayes County district attorney is looking into whether the shooting was lawful.”

A few days later, a young man in Memphis set off a handgun. The bullet went downstairs, and killed a 13 year old girl. Her brother got revenge by killing the upstairs man. ” Memphis Police confirmed they are searching for 19-year-old Ovell Jones on voluntary manslaughter charges in the death of 20-year-old Daniel Lusk. Jones is the brother of 13-year-old LeTara Jones, who was killed when a gun accidentally went off and hit her on January 4.”

Charles Wayne Acklen was a “former Shreveport Police Officer and Vietnam veteran who’s been financially supporting his son for years. Charles Ray Acklen was a registered sex offender, convicted of forcible rape in 1993. Other neighbors said the two had a history of arguing.” A few states north, “Larry Lotz, 65, snapped after his wife, Karen, admonished him for leaving the coffee maker turned on in the couple’s Barrington, Ill., home.”

The law tries to regulate human behavior, with uneven results. In Massachusetts, Bruce O’Brien found himself behind a snow plow that was too slow. “O’Brien has been charged with firing a gun within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm while under the influence of liquor or drugs, disorderly conduct and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was not charged with drunk driving because his level of intoxication did not rise to the legal level.” This is a repost.

This is a repost from 2017. Milo Yiannopoulos appeared on a show hosted by Bill Maher. The program aired in the last twenty four hours. The appearance was controversial, which should translate into rating points for Mr. Maher, and the enhancement of celebrity for Mr. Yiannopoulos. Little of importance was said, except that Mr. Maher is loyal to HBO comedians.

Overtime with Bill Maher was where the fun started. Mr. Yiannopoulos said that Mr. Maher should have guests with higher intelligence quotients. Alleged comedian Larry Wilmore said, to Mr. Yiannopoulos, “go fuck yourself”. Another member of the panel, Malcolm Nance, was said to be able to talk circles around Mr. Yiannopoulos. The well spoken man said to the flamboyant Milo, “I’ve been to Port Said, and Naples, and I suspect you have been too.”

Malcolm Nance is a former US Military Intelligence dude. He was promoting a book about Russian involvement in the recent election. Mr. Nance does appear to be smarter that either Mr. Yiannopoulos or Mr. Wilmore, which is nothing to brag about. When Mr. Nance could get a few words in edgewise, he said some interesting things about Wikileaks, and the Russian mischief.

Mr. Nance said that the Russian hacking of the DNC was massive. It would take a team of intelligence officers working 24 shifts to go through all the data. The Russians/wikileaks released this data in a strategic fashion. Somebody knew what they were doing. And no, it wasn’t that the RNC was less secure than the DNC. If the Russians want to get in, they are going to get in.

Mr. Maher stars in a third video. It stars Mr. Wilmore, Mr. Nance, and incidental glasses wearer Jack Kingston. Mr. Maher begins the segment by saying the Russian election hack was the worst political scandal in USA history. Mr. Nance concurred, and said a few intelligent things, only to be interrupted by Mr. Wilmore. The discussion degenerated into four men talking over each other.

“Stop looking at the distractions and the clown show and look at what matters.” Mr. Maher said this at 0:32 in the linked video. He proceeded to have an alleged comedian tell a pearl clutching Breitbart editor to go fuck himself. Whenever the military intelligence veteran tried to say anything about the worst-political-scandal-in-american-history, he was talked over the alleged comedian. Mr. Wilmore is best known for saying the n-word at the nerd prom. He played his distraction role to perfection.

Democrats did their part in distracting amurica from the Russian problem. The Russian involvement in the election was known during the campaign. However, the Demoze thought it would help their chances of victory to call Donald Trump racist. An alleged kkk endorsement of Mr. Trump received more attention than the Russian/wikileaks connection. It is almost as if the demoze chose to talk about racism, when they knew that Russian intelligence was taking over the Trump campaign. Once again, talk about race is part of “the distractions and the clown show.” Pictures today are from The Library of Congress. Many of these men fought in the War Between the States.

Tussit Chronicles 020123

Posted in Library of Congress, Undogegorized by chamblee54 on February 1, 2023

Another day, another rabbit hole. It started with Frank Ancona, a 2017 true crime story. “@moklansman takkkk.com I am the Imperial Wizard of the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.” TAKKKK is, by all accounts, a minor player at the Granddragoncon. They get way more attention than they deserve, which might be the idea all along.

IW Ancona is not with us anymore. “Authorities have confirmed that the body of Leadwood resident Frank Ancona, 51, … was located earlier in the day outside Belgrade near the Big River by a family who were in that area to go fishing.” ”Ancona was last seen by his wife, Malissa Ancona, Wednesday morning … (Police) also questioned Malissa about a Facebook post she wrote looking for a roommate … Malissa stated to officers she made the Facebook post because Frank told her … when he got back he was filing for divorce. … figured she would need help to pay the rent, so she put an ad out looking for a roommate.” “Malissa Ancona, 44, and her son Paul Edward Jinkerson Jr., 24, were both charged with murder in the first degree, tampering with evidence and abandoning a corpse.”

This was in 2017. On April 19, 2019, “The wife … now publicly admits she killed her husband after he asked for a divorce. Malissa Ancona pleaded guilty in a St. Francois County courtroom to second-degree murder, tampering with evidence and abandonment of a corpse.” She had previously blamed her son for the murder. Paul Jinkerson was sentenced to 59 years for his role.

USA Today ran a picture of IW Ancona posing with Daryl Davis. Mr. Davis is a curious figure in the KKK ecosystem. A rotund Black man, Mr. Davis claims to befriend KKK members, and get them to change their ways. His TED talk has 12.5m views.

Daryl Davis, an incontinent bullshitter, told his story on the Joe Rogan show. I had the sense that something was off, but could not really put a finger on it. Then Mr. Davis said something that could easily debunked. “President Warren G. Harding was sworn into the ku klux klan in the green room of the White House.” “Whoa, what year was that?” “Whatever year he was president…”

The Davis/Ancona picture is from a 2013 story of IW Ancona distributing recruitment handbills in Iowa. It is not known when the two met, but it is apparent that IW Ancona did not renounce his klan activities. This did not prevent the Davis/Acona duo from making a video. “I consider Frank to be my friend.” “I consider Daryl to be my friend as well.” Pictures today are from The Library of Congress.

One of Miss Bankhead’s more explosive friendships was with Billie Holliday. “The truth of the matter suggests they probably first met in the early 1930’s, well before Holiday ever became famous. What is known is that by 1948 they were bosom buddies. A year earlier, Holiday entered the Alderson Federal Reformatory for Women to serve her famous “one day and a year” sentence, after being found guilty on dope charges. Four months after her release in 1948, Holiday was appearing at New York’s Strand Theater with Count Basie on the first leg of a cross-country tour. At the same time, Tallulah Bankhead was nearby on Broadway starring in her hit play, Private Lives. Bankhead caused quite a commotion every night thundering late down the aisle during Billie’s show to sit in her special seat to stare in amazement at the gifted & stunningly beautiful Lady Day. Because Holiday’s license to perform in nightclubs had been revoked, and she was forced to earn her living in grueling tours on the road. For months after the Strand performance, Bankhead traveled with her whenever she could. Also on the tour was dancer/comedian James “Stump Daddy” Cross – nicknamed after his wooden leg, who joined the two famous ladies to make a treacherous threesome.”

“…it appears that during the late 1940s she and Holiday were also lovers. Perhaps they had been all along. Holiday later told William Dufty, who ghostwrote her autobiography, that when Tallulah visited backstage at the Strand Theatre, the thrill she took in exhibitionistic sex made her insist on keeping Holiday’s dressing room door open. Holiday later claimed that Tallulah’s brazen show of affection almost cost her her job at the Strand.”

Before long, Miss Holiday got busted again. Apparently, Miss Bankhead made a phone call to FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, asking for leniency. There is a remarkable thank you – you’re welcome correspondence between Miss Bankhead and Mr. Hoover. “As my Negro Mammy used to say ‘When you pray, you pray to God don’t you … I had only met Billie Holiday twice in my life … and feel the most profound compassion for her … she is essentially a child at heart whose troubles have made her psychologically unable to cope with the world in which she finds herself … poor thing, you know I did everything within the law to lighten her burden”. “A giddy and twitterpated Hoover wrote back, “Your comments are greatly appreciated, and I trust that you will no hesitate to call on me at any time you think I might be of assistance to you.”

At some point, the two became less intimate. Miss Bankhead had her own legal headaches, and put some distance between her and Miss Holiday. When “Lady Sings the Blues” was being prepared, Miss Bankhead got an advance copy, and was horrified by what she saw. A fierce note was sent to the book’s publisher, and scenes were edited out. Miss Holiday was outraged. The letter that resulted is a poison pen classic. “My maid who was with me at the Strand isn’t dead either. There are plenty of others around who remember how you carried on so you almost got me fired out of the place. And if you want to get shitty, we can make it a big shitty party. We can all get funky together!”

This is a repost. Pictures today are from “The Special Collections and Archives, Georgia State University Library”. “Members of the Atlanta Woman’s Club, during a luncheon for retiring president W.F. Citizen Part Three

Posted in Undogegorized by chamblee54 on January 26, 2023

This is a repost from 2019. Race relations in the United States have not improved in the last four years. A google search for Claudia Rankine in the last hour has one result. This content is only available to subscribers. Get unlimited digital access. $1 for 3 Months. … PG had been putting this off. A while back, he took a copy of Citizen: An American Lyric. The idea was to produce a response to it. There would be a live show, that would include these responses.

PG started to read CAAL. He quickly realized that this was not his kind of book. The author, Claudia Rankine, is a college professor. CAAL is an academic book about racism. Reading prose poems about microaggressions is not likely to change black/white America. PG might learn a thing or two, but can also expect to be insulted. When it comes to reading material, PG prefers a story. It might not make PG a better person, but he will enjoy the time spent reading it. Reading a Yale professor talk about microaggression will be prove to be neither transformative nor enjoyable.

Then there was a meme on facebook.. “Pick up the nearest book to you. Turn to page 45. The first sentence explains your love life.” The book nearest to PG was CAAL. The first sentence on page 45 is also the only sentence on page 45. It is that kind of book. The sentence: “And when the woman with the multiple degrees says, I didn’t know black women could get cancer, instinctively you take two steps back though all urgency leaves the possibility of any kind of relationship as you realize nowhere is where you will get from here.” How this explains love life is a mystery. It will, however, motivate PG to write part three of the CAAL series.

Page 45 does not speak to PG. He has had people say preposterous things to him. The idea is to just ignore it, and be happy for your life. The consequences of speaking up are severe. You have to pick your battles. You cannot go off every time your feathers get ruffled. PG would also like to listen to “the woman with the multiple degrees,” and hear her side of the story.

CAAL is full of episodes like this. Some people enjoy this sort of thing. CAAL might get people to listen to each other, and get along better. Or it might just make people tune out, and wait until it is over. CAAL does not tell PG anything he has not heard before. Is CAAL supposed to be swallowed like medicine, to make you a better person?

Putting race aside, lets look at page 45. There is one sentence on page 45. Page 44 has a two sentence paragraph, and five lines of dialog, each separated by a blank line. CAAL is supposed to be an *art* book. It is sponsored by several foundations. The back cover has a list of awards. Is CAAL a book to be admired, or a book to be enjoyed?

Part one and part two of this series are online. Pictures today are from The Library of Congress.

coexist
The custom of expressing your innermost thoughts on the back of your vehicle has taken a curious turn. One popular emblem says coexist. The seven letters are equipped with symbols, both religious and secular. One hopes that no one receiving this message has forgotten to stop, and hit the car with the coexist symbol on the bumper.

When PG was young, there was a miniature golf course on Cheshire Bridge Road called Putt Putt. The first bumper sticker he saw said “I play Putt Putt.” Is coexist an improvement?

When this post was first conceived, the i in coexist was perceived to be unadorned. It was as if the religion of i was receiving due recognition. Upon closer examination, it seems as though the tittle has a five pointed star. This means that the i is a sorcerers wand. The i apparently stands for paganism.

The c, x, and t of coexist are pretty obvious. They are symbols for the three Abrahamic religions. O is a peace sign, and e has the male and female symbols. The religions they represent are not apparent. The s is a yin yang, which is somehow related to Taoism.

Buddhism, Atheism, Communism, and Hinduism are not represented. They spell out Bach. The composer Johann Sebastian Bach produced glorious music for the Lutheran church. Perhaps the e in coexist represents the left out denominations. If this E is combined with BACH, you can spell out BEACH. This is a repost. Pictures today are from The Library of Congress.

In This McMansion

Posted in Commodity Wisdom, Library of Congress, Undogegorized by chamblee54 on January 24, 2023

A popular yard sign begins with “IN THIS HOUSE WE BELIEVE:” (That is the last time we will use all-caps.) There are some opinions expressed in this piece. It should be noted that what follows is merely one person’s opinions. You are free to agree, or disagree, as you see fit.

The ITH yard sign (ITHYS) states: “in this house, we believe: black lives matter, women’s rights are human rights, no human is illegal, science is real, love is love, kindness is everything” The sign is an aesthetic nightmare. You have seven lines of all-caps text. Every sans-serif line is a different size and color. There appear to be multiple fonts used.

ITHYS is annoying. People are too proud of their opinions, and too eager to share them. It does not matter whether you agree or not. Somebody is confronting you with their beliefs. Sometimes, it is worse when you do agree, or partially agree. ITHYS presents bumper sticker arguments, not a respectful discussion of complex issues.

ITHYS is a reminder that we live in a Christian society. This is more than just the widespread acceptance of the Christian doctrines. Christianity is a religion of beliefs and persuation, not practices and contemplation. Even if you move away from the specific doctrines of Christianism, you still accept the primacy of beliefs. It is important to persuade others to accept your beliefs. You see others as a collection of beliefs, rather than a person.

ITHYS begs for satire. Sacred cows need to be ground into hamburgers. I started to write down ideas. Soon, I had In This House Poem. (ITHP) It is embedded above. “In this house we are all God’s children, It is not what you say but how you say it, Don’t need to talk more need to listen more, Clever arguments are not always the truth, Science is the questioning not the trust, Beliefs are your thoughts with an attitude, Hate wins when you fight hate with hate, You are entitled to your opinion.”

The first four words are the same. ITHYS starts off “In this house we believe:”, followed by six beliefs. ITHP says “In this house we are all God’s children.” One is rhetoric, one is acceptance. It doesn’t matter how you read the fine print, you are still one of us. The ITHYS beliefs are presented in all-caps. (One of the rejected lines for ITHP was “Writing in all-caps is shouting.”) In ITHP, the doctrine is less important than your basic humanity. “Beliefs are your thoughts with an attitude.”

On May 1, 1992, Rodney King had seen the policeman who beat him acquitted. Cities coast to coast were in violent upheaval. Despite this, at 7:01 pm, Mr. King stood in front of a camera. “People, I just want to say, you know, can we all get along? Can we get along? Can we stop making it, making it horrible for the older people and the kids? . . . Please, we can get along here. We all can get along. I mean, we’re all stuck here for a while. Let’s try to work it out. Let’s try to beat it. Let’s try to beat it.”

Part of the religion of beliefs is persuading other people to agree with you. You get into semantics, rhetoric, and using logic as a weapon. People confuse presenting a clever argument with speaking the truth. Ideas become more important than people. Not everyone feels this is the best way to live. “You are entitled to your opinion.”

ITHP is just eight ideas. We do not mention many important issues. Black lives matter. People disagree about the existence of God. And much, much more. Many of those issues are complicated. An alternative yard sign says: “simplistic platitudes, trite tautologies, and semantically overloaded aphorisms are poor substitutes for respectful and rational discussions about complex issues”

An amazon review has the final word today. juleskywalker “Don’t buy! So CHEAP it didn’t last 3 weeks! This sign is so cheap, that after only 3 weeks outside, one side has almost entirely peeled off, and the other side isn’t much better. It’s not from the sun either, since it’s the north facing side that is pictured. For comparison, we’ve had a BLM sign next to it for the same time period, and that one looks brand new.” Pictures today are from The Library of Congress.
