I did find a thread by @freepublicradio The first grievance mentioned is that someone touched the lady’s hair. ~ @chamblee54 @natsecHeather has the background thing down Other @bloggingheads should take note A clean, uncluttered background is way to go We know you read a lot, you don’t have to show us books @robertwrighter @natsecHeather gets points for having cHeat in middle of her handle ~ @chamblee54 I had to pause @bloggingheads for some forgotten reason ~ I caught this moment @natsecHeather is rattling on. What she says is on point, but there is so much of it to absorb. @robertwrighter bravely tries to take it all in, but he clearly has the TMI tiredness in his eyes ~ PRX is a non profit that works in facilitating podcasts and public radio programming. Many of their shows are very good. Unfortunately, they had some internal problems recently. A disgruntled employee sent a byebye letter that was leaked to the public. In the post-scandal pearl clutching, a how-can-we-do-better survey went out. Here is one of the questions: For current donors/financial supporters: How much would you be willing to increase your current pledge if PRX makes necessary changes to address its white supremacy culture? ~ I got dragged into this by The Truth retweeting a comment about the letter. I asked to see a copy of the letter, and received insulting replies by Helen Zaltzman. Finally, I saw a tweet summarizing the letter. The first issue raised was the hair touching incident. I have not quit laughing yet. I enjoy your programming. However, to get dragged into another controversy does not increase my enjoyment of your fine programming. Then I hear that this is largely because a malcontent employee got her hair touched. To go into a white savior frenzy over this makes you look like a bunch of sjw idiots. ~ Here is a live stream from Stoned Mountain. At 1:30 in this video, the officer takes a nasty body slam. It is tough to tell from this angle where he landed, but it appears to be close to the head. This may have affected his judgment in the chase. Mr. Brooks later appears to point the officer’s taser in his direction, and fire. ~ There was a fence in back of Wendy’s. Mr. Brooks was not going to go very far. He has a taser, if anyone gets too close. ~ The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Atlanta Police Department on Friday night, June 12th, to investigate an officer involved shooting at the Wendy’s Restaurant on University Avenue. We are in the process of conducting this investigation. Although we have made significant progress in the case, we have not completed our work. Our goal in every officer involved shooting case we are requested to review, is to complete a thorough, impartial investigation before we submit the file to the respective District Attorney’s Office. The GBI was not aware of today’s press conference before it was conducted. We were not consulted on the charges filed by the District Attorney. It ends with asking Mr. Brooks to put his hands behind his back. – People are saying that Mr. Brooks did not do anything wrong. That the police should have allowed him to walk home. Major news reports say this was a cordial and cooperative conversation. The DA said he answered all their questions. I wonder if we are all talking about the same conversation. – Mr. Brooks is bombed. He needs to be arrested for DUI. Period. He is a stubborn drunk, trying to talk his way out of trouble. Talking to him is like trying to nail jelly to a wall. – He is on University Avenue, just south of downtown Atlanta. He thinks he is on Dixie Highway in Forest Park. Is his residence, or hotel room, on Dixie Highway? Or is he just lying his ass off, trying to get out of trouble. And yet, people repeat what is saying as if it were unquestionable gospel. – If he is telling the truth, where was he served? How do you get that loaded on one and a half drinks? Is the server in trouble for serving a man that wasted, who goes out driving, only to pass out in a drive through? The answer came on the news this morning: “Call a neighbor.” OK, but that didn’t work out so well in the Ahmaud Arbery case, did it? ~ This is why twitter has the like button. You can click on it, and let the person know you saw their tweet. Comments are optional, and you don’t get go down the rabbit hole of discussion. ~ There are some interesting thoughts there. The phrase “necrotic neighbor” has a nice sound, despite the nasty meaning behind it. As for faith in Mr. Dammit … I suppose it can’t hurt. Faith is not a substitute for other material based remedies. – A friend once hung out with some nutcase Xtians. They believed in faith healing. There was this nifty Catch 22. If you got better, praise G-d. If you did not get better, it was your fault because you did not have enough faith. – I appreciate your not using the G-word with me. It is not a big deal either way, but your not using *that word* tells me that you know you are talking to, and paying attention.
