“Copyright is a form of protection provided by the laws of the United States to the authors of “original works of authorship” that are fixed in a tangible form of expression. An original work of authorship is a work that is independently created by a human author and possesses at least some minimal degree of creativity. A work is “fixed” when it is captured (either by or under the authority of an author) in a sufficiently permanent medium such that the work can be perceived, reproduced, or communicated for more than a short time. Copyright protection in the United States exists automatically from the moment the original work of authorship is fixed.” From Copyright Basics.

The Poems
This content was originally published June 22, 2018 … As the reader(s) of this blog may have noticed, chamblee54 features poetry. Lately, I have been wondering exactly what I have, and how to access this archive. Yesterday, I started to create a numbered spreadsheet of the 674 graphic poems that have been published in the last five years. … On June 22, 2025, 1266 poems are registered. … Item C001 was published 10-04-2013. A lot of these are terrible. Many of the early works were the result of Trifecta, a writing contest which is no longer in operation. …
… A prompt would be for 33 words, including a certain word, phrase, or concept. Trifecta is no longer in business. Another writing contest, YeahWrite, kicked me out for this poem. Those are the breaks. The party goes on. · Labelism Is Privilege racist liberal conservative, confusing labels function, distract media happy people, use of these words as insults, says more about the talker, than the object of derision · Cracker cracker not the paleface version of the n word, many crackers don’t care what y’all think or say, why give others the power to turn you into sputtering rage, because the wrong person said a bad word. …
This content was originally published June 23, 2018. … One problem with the internet is distractions. While you are there, inevitably you will look at facebook, thus putting your peace of mind at risk. Like when two white facebook friends shared a vile screed, White People Are Cowards. What is the proper response to this? Say something, and get into a quagmire argument? Or just ignore it, and lose respect for the two white men who liked this, as well as a bit of self respect. I don’t want to be someone who hates others because of their opinions. …
… The good news is, the next poem I found in the archive addresses this issue. · Emotional Experience it is is not about justice, it is having an emotional experience, that validates your privilege, the person judging you, is just as messed up as you are, it is is not about salvation, it is having an emotional experience, that validates your privilege. · There is an irony here. The article at the root makes the point that white people have done terrible things, and other white people did not speak out about it. This is a fair enough point. The article is titled …
… “White People Are Cowards,” and the cowardice stems from this lack of speaking up. There is a quote from Thomas Jefferson, which nobody has a source for. Now, should I speak up about the fbf posting this obnoxious article where I can see it? If I had confronted the two fbf about this article, it would have gotten nasty. Nothing good ever comes out of a discussion like that. While you might feel like a coward from walking away, sometimes that is the best thing to do. The second best thing to do is substitute “black” for “white,” in the title and concept, and wonder what would happen. …
… Which brings us to the poem that got me banned from YeahWrite, Whitehall Street. The pictures were taken at a mural on Whitehall Street. Getting the background colors to match was a chore. A few days after publication, there was an email. “Based on the nature of your post this week, your entries will no longer be welcome at yeah write.” Rowan Grigsby submissions editor rowan@yeahwrite.me | yeahwrite.me” After a few emails, I got this: “What you said, essentially, is that a trans woman is a fake woman. Frankly, we have never felt the need …
… to specifically articulate that hate speech is unwelcome in our community. It seemed obvious to us and, indeed, to nearly everyone who submits posts.” Here is the test of the “hate speech.” pearl told peter she is pregnant, baby daddy peter wants to marry, pearl do big man thing what peter, does not know pearl was formerly, known as paul gender reassignment, can grow pretty boobs paint happy,

… Freedom Lies Bleeding grand jury renders opinion, national hissy fit begin again, when justice is popularity contest, freedom lies bleeding in street · On November 24, 2014, I was waiting on a grand jury to make an announcement. There was little doubt that Darren Wilson fired the shots that killed Mike Brown. The question was whether, or not, to indict Mr. Wilson. The grand jury decided not to indict Mr. Wilson. This decision was confirmed by a later DOJ investigation. While waiting on the announcement, I was concerned about mob justice. I feel that the justice system should …

Many people disagreed with the decision of the grand jury. … There was a comment. Anonymous said, on November 25, 2014 at 2:28 pm (Edit) Thanks Luthor… you’re racism never disappoints! Which Poet Are You?
This content was originally published June 19, 2014. … This is true for people with, or without, privilege. (Almost everyone in America has some sort of privilege.) People are skeptical for a lot of reasons. They have been lied to many times. They are told things to manipulate their emotions. If you want to encourage understanding, then you should listen to what they have to say. Quit talking, and start listening. Quit using labels, and consider that it is a human being you are dealing with. …
… chamblee54 Georgia is going to poison Marcus Wellons tonight. The source of the drugs is a state secret. Noway Please tell me, chamblee, how “poisoning” a murdering animal is a bad thing? chamblee54 1- I don’t like the politically correct expression “lethal injection.” 2- Mr. Wellons is a nasty piece of work, who committed a horrible crime. He probably deserves to die. However, this is not always the case in a state sponsored, premeditated, killing. 3- The whole business of using secret drugs, from a secret source, is appalling. Three Jack Just shoot em, no chemicals needed. …
… chamblee54 Today is the 75th anniversary of the last public execution in France. On June 17, 1939, Eugen Weidmann was dispatched. The guillotine was used. The guillotine may be the most efficient, and least painful, method for executions. Unfortunately, it is rather messy. We have to pretend that we are a civilized society. There are endless appeals, and the humane seeming “lethal injection.” gcp “We like to pretend that we are a civilized society.” We have some members of our society who are quite uncivilized and have shown they can’t exist in this society which is why we have prisons …
This content was originally published June 21, 2014. … There is some talk about what the media tastefully calls drone strikes. Unmanned airplanes are piloted by remote control. The focus on a target, and fire a AGM-114 Hellfire II Missile. Often, a second strike is made, after rescuers come to the scene. When the dead are buried, there is sometimes a strike on the funeral. The Hellfire II Missile costs $40,000. The drones use lots of fuel, and require maintenance. Meanwhile, the moving lips in Washington say that no civilians are killed by these attacks. …
… “More recently, on February 8, the Times reported the BIJ’s findings that the CIA’s drone attacks in Pakistan “have repeatedly targeted rescuers who responded to the scene of a strike, as well as mourners at subsequent funerals.” But after highlighting BIJ’s report, the article then allowed a “senior American counterterrorism official, speaking on the condition of anonymity” to not just question the report’s findings, but to state: “One must wonder why an effort that has so carefully gone after terrorists who plot to kill civilians has been subjected to so much misinformation.” …
This content was originally published June 27, 2014. … I rode my bike to walmart. A bottle of liquid soap was purchased. On the way home, I noticed the bike making a strange noise when braking. When I got home, I saw a liquid puddle under the bike. The top had come off the bottle of soap, and cleaning product was everywhere. After cleaning up, and a car trip to walmart, the internet chipped in. A friend had taken a quiz, Which Poet Are You? The friend got Charles Bukowski. The friend is better looking than Mr. Bukowski. That is setting the bar low. …
… The first question is “Where do you like to write?” The third question is “What muse speaks to you?” There is a picture of a bronze Buddha, wearing a Prussian army helmet. This is a hard hat with a rhino spear rising out of the top. It is most phallic, and totally impractical in the nuclear age. The rest of the questions were stupid. Whitman Drabbles
You felons on trial in courts, You convicts in prison-cells, you sentenced assassins chain’d and handcuff’d with iron, Who am I too that I am not on trial or in prison? Me ruthless and devilish as any, that my wrists are not chain’d with iron, or my ankles with iron? You prostitutes flaunting over the trottoirs or obscene in your rooms, Who am I that I should call you more obscene than myself? O culpable! I acknowledge—I expose! (O admirers, praise not me—compliment not me—you make me wince, I see what you do not—I know what you do not.)
… compact truth of the world, There shall be no subject too pronounced—all works shall illustrate the divine law of indirections. What do you suppose creation is? What do you suppose will satisfy the soul, except to walk free and own no superior? What do you suppose I would intimate to you in a hundred ways, but that man or woman is as good as God? And that there is no God any more divine than Yourself? And that that is what the oldest and newest myths finally mean? And that you or any one must approach creations through such laws?
Be composed—be at ease with me—I am Walt Whitman, liberal and lusty as Nature, Not till the sun excludes you do I exclude you, Not till the waters refuse to glisten for you and the leaves to rustle for you, do my words refuse to glisten and rustle for you. My girl I appoint with you an appointment, and I charge you that you make preparation to be worthy to meet me, And I charge you that you be patient and perfect till I come. Till then I salute you with a significant look that you do not forget me.
Of persons arrived at high positions, ceremonies, wealth, scholarships, and the like; (To me all that those persons have arrived at sinks away from them, except as it results to their bodies and souls, So that often to me they appear gaunt and naked, And often to me each one mocks the others, and mocks himself or herself, And of each one the core of life, namely happiness, is full of the rotten excrement of maggots, And often to me those men and women pass unwittingly the true realities of life, and go toward false realities, And often to me they are alive after what custom has served them, but nothing more, And often to me they are sad, hasty, unwaked sonnambules walking the dusk.)
Unfolded out of the folds of the woman man comes unfolded, and is always to come unfolded, Unfolded only out of the superbest woman of the earth is to come the superbest man of the earth, Unfolded out of the friendliest woman is to come the friendliest man, Unfolded only out of the perfect body of a woman can a man be form’d of perfect body, Unfolded only out of the inimitable poems of woman can come the poems of man, (only thence have my poems come;) Unfolded out of the strong and arrogant woman I love, only thence …
… can appear the strong and arrogant man I love, Unfolded by brawny embraces from the well-muscled woman love, only thence come the brawny embraces of the man, Unfolded out of the folds of the woman’s brain come all the folds of the man’s brain, duly obedient, Unfolded out of the justice of the woman all justice is unfolded, Unfolded out of the sympathy of the woman is all sympathy; A man is a great thing upon the earth and through eternity, but every of the greatness of man is unfolded out of woman; First the man is shaped in the woman, he can then be shaped in himself.
