I want to give my account of why I found TFC and their fans’ posture ridiculous ~ There were two fires in Atlanta. The one Scarlet fled was in September. CSA was abandoning the city, and burned anything of value. The second fire was in November. Sherman was leaving, and burned the rest. ~ I wasn’t sure what a tapestry was, other than an album by Carole King. I thought it was something like a quilt, but it turns out to a a woven work. All the threads in in are on the same surface, rather than a quilt, where different pieces of cloth are sewn together. I googled tapestry, and one of the results was the tapestry hoodie. “Capture timeless artistry with our custom tapestry hoodie. Crafted from high-quality weft-faced weaving, this hoodie is the perfect way to showcase your unique designs. There is a one-time setup fee of $49 and a 4-6 week turnaround time for production, but the intricate detail and authentic look won’t disappoint. Wear art you can be proud of.” I have always thought of a hoodie as a practical garment. It is a layer in cold weather, that works well with a scarf tied around the neck. It is going to be hidden under a jacket, and is going to get dirty. A tapestry hoodie, otoh, is supposed to be seen and clean. While it was be a statement garment, I don’t think this is going to be worth the time and money involved in getting it. Tapestry also comes with a charter school option, and a hospice. I can see this metaphor used to describe a school, instead of a literal fabric to craft a hoodie out of. I did not check out the tapestry hospice option, and i don’t think i will have time. ~ Happy Birthday Anita Bryant, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Flannery O’Connor ~ “a mineral K2Ca2Cu(SO4)4.2H2O consisting of a hydrous sulfate of copper, calcium, and potassium” ~ this is the first monday morning reader to appear after Charley Brown went to the makeup mirror in the sky. The R-word appears to have been first used in 2002, at the Lake Mohonk Conference of Friends of the American Indian. ~ @tejucole “George Carlin’s original seven dirty words can all be said freely now. Does a George Floyd Quackumentary Deserve to be Treated Like Valid Journalism? ~ What, exactly, does this “tremendous amount of context” change when appraising the jury’s conclusion that Chauvin put his knee on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes and that this is what killed him? ~ presidential candidates are because why on Earth there would be two candidates one of whom has cognitive problems and the other of whom has judgment problems um these are the two biggest issues with ~ this is the last monday morning for this winter. The fact that I have not heard the White Whale episode should not stop me. Is White Whale Whiteness problematic? ~ So, I downloaded the episode, and finished with some chores. It is time to listen. BAR is an essential part of my monday morning, even if it usually means monday afternoon. At 10:22, I pause the show. This is turning into a TERF hen party, with Katee and Helen clucking away about something of no consequence whatsoever. I will be back, but I wish these two fine ladies would talk about internet nonsense, without creating their own. ~ Not to worry. I go X-ploring, and find a tasteful tweet from Jesse. For all the furor over publicized cases, very few people are interested in the details of most killings ~ @jonkay thinks that an event, “Hunger as a weapon of war: The starvation of Gaza,” is “solidarity’ with hamas” ~ the state of Georgia executed Willie James Pye Wednesday night. Mr. Pye was convicted of the 1993 murder of his former girlfriend Alicia Lynn Yarbrough. It was the first execution in Georgia since 2020. ~ I am listening to this, between the technical glitches. It is making me think, which I do not always appreciate. I am working on a project while I listen. I am into a boring, easily distracted phase of this, where the struggle is to stay focused on the task at hand. 1/x This is a metaphor for what you are talking about. People have a lot of necessary drudgery in their lives. Many other people feel that they gain power by distracting them, cynically knowing that there is nothing that the string pullers can do to solve the puppets problems 2/x ~ So I was corresponding with a man from doublelist. we played message tag, and i gave him my number. he sent a text, which i replied to. a few days later, he says he never got my text. i sent one, as a reply to the one he sent me, and he says he never got it. so he asks what i am doing today. then he says to come over in a little while. I get cleaned up, and ready to leave. he sends a message saying this is taking too long, and he doesn’t have much time . this is where the dialog ends ~ A writer went to a mobile home in Hudson FL. one day, people will boast of their ability to listen, rather than the things they say. or maybe not ~ Did you discuss Gaza? Much of what @radleybalko says about your technique applies to your defense of “Screams without Words” I have not listened. I read the megawordage. George Floyd is old news. Gaza is ongoing, and is a historic tragedy. ~ Why not let the young person rest in peace? This did not need to be a national sensation. The name of this minor should not be used … either the trans name or the name given at birth/dead name. “Dead name” is a creepy phrase. Lets find another word for this. ~ Apparently, when Katie got Brad Polumbo to co-host BAR, she agreed to appear on his podcast, Damage Control. He is using this picture to promote it. Who knew that Katie is pretty? Brad and Katie have a “family” connection, which makes this all rather ironic. ~ this is your monday morning reader for today. America has never been the same. ~ attn @googlefiber Please retire that obnoxious youtube commercial with the Asian lady in the produce section ~ This is a repost from 2023. Rising is more focused on the tragedy in Gaza now. The last tweet from @bethanyshondark announces “Extra credit to attend a pro-Hamas rally. Shocker.” … ~ this time last year, @bethanyshondark appeared on @RisingTheHill to promote a book. @briebriejoy asked her to define wokeness. It became “One of those moments thats going to go viral.” A good time was had, and book sales increased. Today, @briebriejoy is more focused on the tragedy in Gaza. The last tweet from @bethanyshondark: “Extra credit to attend a pro-Hamas rally. Shocker.” ~ Eve Babitz was a lady who lived in Los Angeles in the Sixties and Seventies. Writing magazine articles was one of her skills. In 2019, someone recycled these “pieces” into “I Used To Be Charming.” ~ one time i saw a profile… dude was at the cheshire motor inn, welcoming people to come over for no holds barred good times … the last word of his profile … discreet ~ A few years ago, there was a facebook group discussion about racism. A mod was starting sentences by saying “As a POC…” I did a little research. The POC mod had a Puerto Rican father, and a Jewish mother. Their skin was lighter than mine. ~ @ chamblee54 I read a study once. Some people quit reading after 250 words, and that percentage increases as the piece gets longer. We get to a subject like race. There is nuance, abusive rhetoric, prejudice, cynical attempts to persuade. After a while, I just want to get away from the whole stinking mess, and look at something more pleasant. The linked piece is an attempt to make sense of an exasperating subject. I got to the second invitation to subscribe before my patience ran out. @EyeOnStalk It’s a lot of pointless words trying to cover one essential nugget. Hanania believes the current (spottily-studied) population differences in IQ tests are intrinsic and permanent and illustrate that “race” is a meaningful category and “sex” correlates to aptitude. @EyeOnStalk That’s it. That’s the whole ballgame. Plenty of ant-racists make unsupported non-scientific arguments about the whole thing, because, as you said, the subject gives them the ick, but that doesn’t mean Hanania is actually correct on the science. He’s not. @chamblee54 Thank you for taking the time to reply. I tend to avoid arguments about this. There are soooo many other things to worry about. ~ “They were not there for the LGB only T” If you consider the drug slang meaning of T, this is a significant portion of the population. ~ This is a repost from March 2020, ~ this is a report from 2020, at the start of the lockdown. One person in South Korea, went to a crowded church service, and infected over 900 people. Shincheonji Church is still going strong, and celebrates its 40th anniversary today. ~ pictures today are from The Library of Congress ~ selah

Coal miner at end of the day’s work” ~ @martyrmade Big news, likely signaling a major policy shift. Nuland has run point on our Russia-Europe policy ever since we helped engineer the Maidan coup d’etat. The results, after 10 years are in: -Ukraine is destroyed, and has permanently lost Crimea and its main industrial region -Europe is deindustrializing -Russia is permanently alienated, and tighter than ever with China, India, and Iran -much of the world refused to isolate Russia, and suffered no consequences -institutions central to U.S. dollar hegemony no longer viewed as neutral -NordStream broke the seal on sabotaging international infrastructure -Russian military capabilities significantly increased, not decreased -countries like Iran, North Korea, etc have seen that, short of total war, NATO conventional capabilities are quite limited. Still, Nuland is one of those undead creatures in Washington, who has only ever failed upward, so her resignation probably indicates her usefulness has finally run out. ~ I got rid of my land line. Every day, I got a call from an Asian phone room. Some lady, who did not know how to pronounce Luther, would ask if I wanted to sell my house. ~ This meme turned up on facebook: you can sway a thousand men by appealing to their prejudices quicker than you can convince one man by logic Robert Heinlein – Wikiquotes says “Do you seriously expect to start a rebellion with picayune stuff like that?” “It’s not picayune stuff, because it acts directly on their emotions, below the logical level. You can sway a thousand men by appealing to their prejudices quicker than you can convince one man by logic. It doesn’t have to be a prejudice about an important matter either. If This Goes On— (p. 426) Robert Heinlein – A version of this quote is on page 130. Part one of the story is here. ~ someone with good intentions made a video about Charles Bukowski’s attitudes towards women. The word problematic was used. At one point, the gentleman said that Bukowski was the “Walt Whitman of neat whiskey.” ~ today’s feature presentation is a rerun from 2022. It is based on an Oblique Strategies card, “Only a part, not the whole.” Sometimes, when you create something, you have to make decisions. ~  First, thank you for doing the work to make this HS happen. I am a frequent flyer at a zoom poetry reading on sunday night. Here is the link for tonight. If you have the time, you might stop by to see how this one works. I am Manley Pointer, which I may use Monday night. A few random thoughts. If you have already figured all this out, my apologies. – The talisman is an essential part of a HS. If you look on the zoom platform, there is an option to “raise hand” I believe it is in “captions.” We might use a raised hand as the talisman. – Theresa, the host of Java Speaks, makes a list of people as they come into the room. If you are going to have speaking in order, you might want to make a list. As for checking it twice, and finding out who is naughty or nice … – I present graphic poems on sunday night. There is the ability to share the screen, and have the user present material. I am not sure how this works for the host, or whether we will want to do this. This is going to be a learning experience. – Zoom is an imperfect system, and occaisonally acts weird. the contradiction of wind there are multiple meanings here… win, wind … but one thing that people don’t think of is wind, as in wind a watch. that is a different pronunciation, and meaning, than wind as is blowing out of the south. there is a connection between wind and wind, other than using the same four letters, with different sounds. I think a homophone is a words pronounced the same, with different spellings and meaning. What is are two words, with same spelling, but different meaning and pronunciation? merriam webster says these are homographs, but the tab crashed before i could get any more information. it must be important. Other homographs are bass, which is either a fish or a low note guitar. Minute, tear, bow, close are other examples. the website has a list of 20, but the other fifteen were single pronunciation homographs. the prompt said something about contradiction of wind, as in something that blows. i was having so much fun exploring homographic reality, both single and dual pronunciations, that i forgot about contradictions. besides, homographs are positive, and contradictions are negative, and we have too much negativity already without ~ @nihilist_arbys Make no mistake, no one cares about you and when you’re down in a ditch covered in six varietals of diseased piss and need friends the most, that’s when they’ll prove your ultimate truth: the world is dark and you are alone and you’ll die as you lived: alone and scared Eat arbys ~ this is your monday morning reader for today. @DestryBrod I just heard someone refer to Texas as “Howdy Arabia” and I still haven’t stopped laughing. ~ One more note about the gathering. Sandy Steadman wanted to talk about AIDS in the van, and was ignored. He later asked to stop and get condoms, which seemed strange to some of us. February 1984 was a phase in the AIDS disaster. I was certainly aware of it. However, I did know anybody who had it. This would change quickly. Many of the gathering people would succumb to the virus. Most were probably already infected by then. I am not sure if HIV had been identified yet. There are reports that people who stopped recieving body fluids by 1983 were in better shape than those who did not. There is a good bit of rearview mirror history about how to handle this storm, as it approached. ~ Edwin Bridges I did not remember Sandy doing that, but it is definitely in character for him, and fits what he and I both suspected at the time, and likely had discussed. I had hired Sandy as my lab technician at Duke University Medical Center over a year earlier, and so for much of 1983 he had been exposed to many of the theories about AIDS from the medical and biochemical perspectives. He stayed at Duke and took over my job when I left for Tennessee. By the end of 1983 I already know many people who were very sick or already gone, and so I remember being relatively safe by then, although still doing oral without a condom, which would have been my highest risk of exposure. Sandy went on to get a M.D. and practice medicine, while I declined all my similar opportunities. ~ Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. ~ Fani is using the Bible as a weapon in this clip. I live in Dekalb County, 3 miles outside of Fulton. My only concern at this point is not running out of popcorn. ~ “Here Stalin showed his real greatness. He neither cringed nor strutted. He never presumed, he never surrendered. He gained the friendship of Roosevelt and the respect of Churchill. He asked neither adulation nor vengeance. He was reasonable and conciliatory. But on what he deemed essential, he was inflexible. He was willing to resurrect the League of Nations, which had insulted the Soviets. He was willing to fight Japan, even though Japan was then no menace to the Soviet Union, and might be death to the British Empire and to American trade. But on two points Stalin was adamant: Clemenceau’s “Cordon Sanitaire” must be returned to the Soviets, whence it had been stolen as a threat. The Balkans were not to be left helpless before Western exploitation for the benefit of land monopoly. The workers and peasants there must have their say.” On Stalin W. E. B. You know, I forgot he was Black tonight for an hour.” Although Matthews’s comment was likely well-intentioned, it actually is reflective of his implicit bias and covert racism: Because the newly elected president did not fit Matthews’s schema of Black people, he was deemed to have no race—or, more likely, to seem White.” ~ An academic paper about Post-Racial Allegory in Zone One contributed “We are now in a 21st-century post-partisan, post-racial society that is being led by those who are racial and those who are partisan” (The Lou Dobbs show, November 12, 2009) ~ back when son-of-a-white-woman B. immigration is for republicans what racism is for democrats. it can fire up the gullible base, while knowing there is little they can do about it. ~ Mark 6:4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. ~ Fani Willis was running against Paul Howard, she said voters deserve a DA that will not have sex with their employees. You can’t make this up. ~ this is your monday morning reader for today. The picture today is a haiku reduction. Take a text, select a five-seven-five group of words, and render the rest unrecognizable. It is a metaphor for a lot of other activity in the world today. ~ yesterday was birthday number 110 for William S. Burroughs, a heroin addict of international renown. The picture today was taken by Timothy H. O’Sullivan in August 1863. “Bealeton, Virginia. Officers of 93d New York Infantry” ~ I do not watch cable news. I saw all the animosity towards @TuckerCarlson Then he got foxfired, I heard some things I agreed with, and I wondered what the problem was. This is similar to what is happening with Mr. Putin ~ Who is going to translate the conversation between @TuckerCarlson and #VladimirPutin ? How will the American translation compare to the Russian translation? ~ the Bituah Leumi data does not distinguish between those killed by Hamas and civilians killed by Israeli forces in the fighting to retake control of southern Israel, an operation in which the army used shells and rockets on inhabited areas, according to testimonies collected by AFP and Israeli media. ~ Now, there is a growing body of evidence that many of the Israeli civilians Tel Aviv claims were killed by Palestinian fighters on Oct. 7 were actually killed by the Israeli military. Over the last month, eyewitness testimonies and other evidence has surfaced indicating that a great many of those blasted and torched on Oct. 7, Palestinian and Israeli alike, were the victims of indiscriminate and massive Israeli tank and helicopter bombardment. The narrative now being pieced together is that Israeli forces fired a huge amount of ordinance indiscriminately from tanks and U.S.-supplied Apache helicopters on towns as well as on cars either fleeing a rave concert or driving towards Gaza with hostages, indiscriminately killing both Palestinian fighters and the Israeli civilians. This was a desperate attempt to contain the Palestinian surprise assault and to prevent the fighters from taking live Israeli hostages. The death toll was then added to those killed by Palestinian fighters and Hamas was blamed. By the military’s own admission, Israeli pilots could not distinguish clearly between Palestinian combatants and Israeli civilians but decided to open fire anyway. Apache helicopter pilots fired continuously without intelligence on targets. Tank crews were ordered to shell homes, even though Israeli hostages might be inside. A military commander even ordered an air attack on his own base when he learned it had been overrun by Palestinian fighters. At least part of the indiscriminate firing appears to have been a deliberate policy called the “Hannibal Directive” under which Israel is willing to kill its own citizens rather than have them taken hostage. ~ “The woman in the black dress” is a key figure in the sexual violence claims about October 7. Was she killed by #Hamas or #IDF ? ~ the spell check suggestion for gnihton is tonight gnihton in chinese is 格尼頓 Gé ní dùn. ~ chamblee54 This is just good clean fun. Krystal says that trash talking “self improvement” adds “shame and pressure to their lives” Saager responds by saying “I don’t know it depends” These are stressful times. A tragedy of historic proportions is occurring in Palestine. The Presidential election is going to be between two senile white guys. Taylor Swift’s bf has a haircut that is cultural appropriation. Krystal and Saager are doing a great job of keeping us informed on these crucial issues. It is not going to hurt anything if they have a discussion of a “human interest” subject. They might even be able to sell some ads for paper towels. ~ @clgood Somebody said that it couldn’t be done, But he, with a grin, replied, He’d never be one to say it couldn’t be done, Leastwise not ’till he tried! So he buckled right in, With a trace of a grin, By golly, he went right to it! He tackled the thing that couldn’t be done… And he couldn’t do it. ~ I saw this purple prose, and felt the need to make a statement. And for the people who like Bob Newhart, denigrate means ‘put down’ ~ “in the special case of Gaza, moreover, the crowded urban battlefield offers endless opportunities for the easiest of tactics, because contrary to accusations that only expensively educated U.S. college students could possibly believe, Israeli soldiers do not deliberately kill innocent civilians going about their business.” ~ religiousfruitcake-ModTeam Your post was removed because this is a screenshot with no apparent fruitcaky content. The one that starts with R, or the one that ends with R? ~ We could use the initials AH, for alleged hypocrite. I knew you would dismiss it if it were. These are claims made by The NY Times—which, for all its flaws—tends not to invent photographs out of whole cloth. I’ll let you parse the difference between rape and driving nails into a woman’s groin. I see no meaningful difference in the context of 10/7. In other words: Whatever it would say about Hamas that they did the former, it would say the same about them that they did the latter. And you seem equally tempted to deny it in either case.” ~ pictures for today’s post super bowl slowdown  are from The Library of Congress ~ selah

I wrote a blog post once. I saw that enemy was mentioned 100 times in KJV (the real bible), and enemies 237. I say “love your enemies” is mistranslated, and it should be “show kindness to your enemies” ~ this is your monday morning reader for a Detroit fourth down. Picture is by Marion Post Wolcott. “Michael Du Mond, former gunshop proprietor in Wisconsin, came to Hartford in August to work at Colts at forty dollars a week, and has received several raises since. It took him four months to find a place for his wife and two children, namely a hotel apartment for sixty dollars a month, eating all meals out. Now they have a very hot small attic apartment, third floor, for thirty dollars a month, and no place for children to play. It may be too good. While what @EconTalker said was true on a certain level, it is also false on others. I wind up tuning it all out. Did you ever discuss the hannibal doctrine attacks on 10-7? ~ The Savior passed a fig tree; Alas, it bore no fruit. He spoke a word and cursed it; It withered from the root. This was a word of caution, At least it seems to me. The lesson being simple—Dude, don’t be like that tree. @ChrchCurmudgeon ~ one beat too many, the dude does not contribute, last line does not work. @chamblee54 ~ Say what? A spare beat lingers? Oh no, it could not hide. I counted on my fingers; And lo, the “dude” abides. @ChrchCurmudgeon ~ @QuaySmith I liked the cadence it brought ~ @chamblee54 @QuaySmith doth reply, I liked the cadence it brought, Just include the dude ~ @washingtonpost invited readers to make cosmetic changes to popular words. Hence, you must double-check to make sure the exact quotation you are examining appears within the source cited. I have been sent inquiries based on faulty information from AI systems. @jposhaughnessy ~ american military analyst: Israel is not committing genocide; the number of casualties is not sufficient enough ~ Sedevacantism is a Catholic thing. Sedevacantists think that the Pope is not Catholic enough to serve. Jack Delano took the photograph in June 1941. “Five-cent hot lunches at the Woodville public school. Greene County, Georgia” ~ “A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it.” The gem is blamed on Oscar Wide. The quote is found in “The Portrait of Mr. W. H.” (1889.) “To die for one’s theological beliefs is the worst use a man can make of his life, but to die for a literary theory! It seemed impossible.” ~ a fresh start, leaving everything behind, so i gave up / drew a blank on the prompt, went to look at espn the lions are ahead which is fabulous, maybe i should focus on the springboard, idk what a sb is, is it like a dry diving board, maybe a freeze dried microwavable start is what i need instead, or maybe i should give down, and steal up ~ @QuoteResearch Warning: Never use ChatGPT or other current AI systems to learn about quotations. AI systems of today present incorrect quotations and attributions. AI systems hallucinate The AI technology of large language models (LLMs) is powerful, but it dramatically fails in the domain of quotations. But I still have my gut. I listen to my gut. It is not always correct, but it is where I start. ~ @chamblee54 Here is the end of the free segment. Somebody has a sense of humor. “one person’s pessimism is another person’s realism” ~ This article did not mention … at least in the part of it I was able to read … that Coleman Hughes supports Israel’s hobby of slaughtering Palestinian children. I suppose that is what happens when you get paid by Bari Weiss. As for rule#1, BAR is about internet nonsense. The song and dance here … legalistically picking apart a criticism of the George Floyd phenomenon, while ignoring enthusiastic support for mass murder in Palestine … seems to qualify as internet nonsense. ~ Tigers Tigers fighting bright, In the ballparks of the night, Your pitchings fair, your field adroit, So why no pennant for Detroit? ~ selah

Spectators at the parade to recruit civilian defense volunteers” ~ “how many divisions does the Pope have?” Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin, aka Иосиф Сталин იოსებ სტალინი. This could easily apply to the ICJ today. But did Mr. Stalin really say it? The evidence comes from U.S.A. Assistant Press Secretary Eban Ayers. quoting U.S.A. Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy during an executive lunch took place in 24 January 1946 in a White House executive lunchroom. According to the excerpt, Joseph Stalin actually asked Winston Churchill “How many divisions did you say Pope has?” during the Potsdam Conference which was held in Potsdam/Germany to negotiate terms for the end of World War II between July 17 to August 2, 1945. According to W.D.Leahy (whom was a participant as Harry Truman’s adviser at Potsdam during the conference), that was the funniest remark of the conference. ~ The incident occured during the discussion of Poland’s situation. Stalin brought a proposal about Poles but Churchill objected that referring to Polish Catolics and said “Pope would be very displeased”. Then Stalin turned to Churchill and asked that famous question “after taking a tug at his moustache”: “How many divisions did you say Pope has?” ~ “A Single Death Is a Tragedy; A Million Deaths Is a Statistic” This crowd pleaser appears to be the result of a journalist under deadline pressure. “In 1932 “The Christian Science Monitor” printed an article describing a meeting that included George Bernard Shaw, Lady Astor, and Stalin … the reporter expressed uncertainty about the veracity of the tale. … The story is told in Moscow that hardly had his guests been shown into the room when Lady Astor exuberantly opened the conversation with this remark: “Mr. Stalin, how long are you going to continue killing people?” The Soviet Dictator quietly answered: “As long as it is necessary.” ~ This is a repost from 2017. Levant was becoming known to American audiences as one of the regular panelists on the radio quiz show Information Please. Originally scheduled as a guest panelist, Levant proved so quick-witted and popular that he became a regular fixture on the show in the late-1930s and 1940s, along with fellow panelists Franklin P. Adams and John Kieran and moderator Clifton Fadiman. “Mr. Levant,” as he was always called, was often challenged with musical questions, and he impressed audiences with his depth of knowledge and facility with a joke. Kieran praised Levant as having a “positive genius for making offhand cutting remarks that couldn’t have been sharper if he’d honed them a week in his mind. Oscar was always good for a bright response edged with acid.”[9] Examples include “I knew Doris Day before she was a virgin,” “I think a lot of [conductor/composer Leonard] Bernstein—but not as much as he does,” and (after Marilyn converted to Judaism when she married playwright Arthur Miller), “Now that Marilyn Monroe is kosher, Arthur Miller can eat her.” ~ time as a dance partner .. time can do everything that i do, only backwards and wearing high heels, ginger rogers, the original bwhh lady, made an appearance at northlake mall, one summer when i was working for the mall, she was selling gaymode panty hose, when someone asked her how old she was, she said it was none of your business, , i asked time a minute ago how old they were, i would ask time for the pronouns, but i will just assume it is non binary, maybe i just get down to business and ask time for a dance, time is old, and smells bad, so this is not going to be a slow dance, maybe i should just wait for the electric slide, and then sneak off, because i never did learn that and it is embarrassing, time likes to embarrass you for not knowing the steps, especially when i am going forward wearing flat shoes, oh god, now they are playing the macarena, and time is pulling me out onto the floor kicking and screaming, lord what is this sick excuse for a dj going to play next, he already played the perfect country song, so i don’t have to worry, maybe it will be its raining men, and all the women will dance while the men talk about football games, time has no shame, and will dance to anything, even the horrible muzak that the dj plays to clear the floor and make everyone order drinks, even the lady in red even the baby elephant waltz ~ this is your King day monday morning reader. The picture shown was taken by John Vachon in February 1942. ” Ipswich, South Dakota. Village priest riding a bicycle to town” ~ “A quote widely attributed to James Baldwin, but was, in fact, coined by Robert Jones Jr. … succinctly states the intention of Son of Baldwin,” the blog explains. “‘We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.’” ~ Ezekiel 23:20 For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses. ~ @Jonathan_K_Cook A Palestinian recounts what is now an everyday horror story in northern Gaza: of his futile efforts to dig out his neighbours, a mother and her two young children, trapped under rubble while Israeli snipers fire on him; watching their slow, painful deaths; and then fighting off a pack of starving dogs tearing chunks out of their corpses. ~ Adolph Luetgert was charged with murdering his wife and dissolving her body in acid in one of his sausage vats at the A.L. Luetgert Sausage & Packing Company in 1897. … After the news of the trial became public, rumors spread that Luetgert had actually turned his wife into sausage and sold the “sausage” to unknowing consumers.” ~ In this house we are all God’s children, It is not what you say but how you say it, Don’t need to talk more need to listen more, Clever arguments are not always the truth, Science is the questioning not the trust, Beliefs are your thoughts with an attitude, Hate wins when you fight hate with hate, You are entitled to your opinion. ~ @WaywardRabbler The YNet News “7 Days” Report “The First Hours of Black Saturday” paints a devastating picture of incompetence, panic, and, ultimately, extreme disregard for the lives of Israeli civilians by the IDF There will be serious domestic repercussions for Israel’s government ~ @WaywardRabbler 5 hours in the IDF was still fighting without proper equipment, without proper orders, and did not know the extent of the breach. In short, Israel may “have a right to defend itself,” but they were not prepared to do so on 10/7 16/25 ~ JON OSSOFF AND RAPHAEL WARNOCK VOTED AGAINST THE RESOLUTION. “US senators have defeated a measure, introduced by Bernie Sanders, that would have made military aid to Israel conditional on whether the Israeli government is violating human rights and international accords in its devastating war in Gaza.” ~ Israel Has Bought a Mass Online Influence System to Counter Antisemitism, Hamas Atrocity Denial … Defense, intelligence and civilian bodies realized soon after October 7 they were losing the online battle to what sources call Hamas’ ‘well-oiled psychological and information warfare machine.’ So they quietly purchased digital tools to fight disinformation, despite fears of future political misuse ~ @QuoteResearch There is a story about a Lincoln quote. The quote is real. What is interesting is why Abe said it. In 1862, with the South winning the war, Abe did not think he had the authority to issue the Emancipation Proclamation. The quote: In September 1862 a newspaper in Wisconsin reported on a meeting that was held between President Abraham Lincoln and a group of religious leaders who wanted him to immediately sign an Emancipation Proclamation. Lincoln was hesitant and argued that the measure would be ineffective because it would not actually free slaves. He used the language of the riddle to figuratively explain his position: … On pressing the policy of emancipation upon the President we received this reply “You remember the slave who asked his master, ‘If I should call a sheep’s tail a leg, how many legs would it have?’ ‘Five.’ ‘No, only four; for my calling the tail a leg would not make it so.’ “Now, gentlemen, if I say to the slaves, ‘you are free,’ they will be no more free than at present.” ~ here is another view of the story.
