@TheAtheistPig It’s like god ain’t gonna so shit for you in this life, but if you don’t believe, man, is ever gonna fuck you up. @chamblee54 “It’s like god ain’t gonna so shit for you” That is an interesting typo. The obvious answer is do shit. Or maybe douche it, sew shit, sow shit ( the porcine solution) or something else. You just gotta believe. @TheAtheistPig Damn typos.

We needed to do this after the 2000 election. The Demoze are waiting for their turn to lose the popular vote, but win the electoral vote. The electoral college reinforces the demo-repub duopoly. Having a fool like Trump elected is a cost of doing business. ~ Does BDSM stand for BDS Man? ~ there are some questions the amount donated to campaigns is somewhere between $46k and $500k how did mr buck get his $$$ the coroners report I saw on Gemmel Moore did not mention drugs being found The coroners report on Timothy Dean has not been released ~ The WaPo brought us the story about the KKK endorsing DJT. The story was believed without question, and fueled hysteria in the waning days of that nightmare campaign. Did these lies influence the white people in Michigan and Pennsylvania to vote for DJT? “Be less blatantly partisan.” That is a good idea. Also, if you are going to favor one candidate, make your lies a bit more plausible. ~ No, the press would ignore the comment. If it did get reported, then WP and POC would think he was crazy. ~ gerrymandering is like the weather everyone has an opinion about it, but few know how to do anything to change it ~ Only if you know nothing about the subject being discussed ~ pictures for this dogged diversion from dissective derailment today are from The Library of Congress. ~ selah

@NathanJRobinson @robertwrighter “If I had a british accent, I would be one of the premier intellectuals in America” A lady said to Adlai Stevenson “you have the support of every thinking person in america” “thank you, but I need a majority to win”
The Joy of Not Giving a Shit It is ironic that you would title a piece about growing older “The joy of not giving a shit.” One of the distressing things about advancing age and decrepitude is the simple fact that your body does not work as well anymore. Things that were once automatic are now a cause for celebration. One of these things is the functioning of your bowels in ridding the body of fecal waste. Yes, I am talking about giving a shit, in the literal sense, and not the tired metaphoric way that we use to express apathy. It is quite a joyous thing to start the day with a robust bowel movement.

@realDonaldTrump Everyone is asking how Tiger played yesterday. The answer is Great! He was long, straight & putted fantastically well. He shot a 64. Tiger is back & will be winning Majors again! Not surprisingly, Jack also played really well. His putting is amazing! Jack & Tiger like each other. ~ Windows cannot open this file. To open this file correctly, defenestrate, then try running the file again… ~ Have you seen pictures of the assailants in action? Otherwise, how do you know? ~ I placed a pharmacy order. Two weeks, I called to check up. It had never been submitted. I placed another order, and called the help line to confirm. It had not been submitted. I placed the order over the phone. While doing this, I got cut off several times, forwarded to the wrong place, and had a lady hang up on me. You want me to trust this? ~ The Democrats use racism as an election gimmick. When the election is over, and the Republicans win, POC feel more alienated than before. This is not helping America. The Democrats are exploiting racial inequality to try to win elections. Nothing good will come of this. ~ I don’t know if this answers anything, but… In the recently completed Georgia Governor’s election, aka the election from hell, Stacey Abrams had some ideas about education and healthcare. Mostly, they involved spending more money. How the state was going to find the money to fund these ideas was not addressed. After a while, her people realized that this was going to go nowhere. What was resonating with the focus groups was heavy breathing pearl clutching about *voter suppression.* Some of what Miss Abrams said about VS was true. Some of it was questionable. As the campaign went into the October surprise phase, the difference between truth and poetry became less important. The only thing that mattered was to fire up your base. It has been suggested that *voter suppression* was a code word for racism. So the election from hell went down, and the red meanies won. Is Georgia a better state? Did it hurt or help that Stacey Abrams based her campaign on *voter suppression*? I am not smart enough to know. ~ A lot of us said this in 2012, when the Blank Bowl was first proposed. Some of us said the same thing in 1988, when the Georgia Dome was proposed. Originally, the Atlanta City Council rejected the proposal to build the Dome. A week later, campaign contributions were made to the various council people, and the decision to build the Dome was made. ~ I listened to the #jackdorsey show @joerogan used an interesting phrase he said “even a racist” it was about having access to social media #racist is now the ultimate insult it means something different to everyone ~ pictures are from The Library of Congress. ~ selah

We then find out our parents address was posted online. If that wasn’t enough, our family operated business has been slandered and attacked.

It’s not a reason to retire in and of itself, but it has an effect. Even on something innocuous, like a traffic stop, citizens walk up not knowing anything about what’s going on and they start making accusations. You would never walk into some accounting firm and go up to someone at their cubicle and tell them they’re not doing their job right. But there’s this weird sense among residents they know police work and can tell you how to do your job. It becomes a thorn in the side.”

How the Georgia race for governor came down to the wire The fishwrapper had yet another election post mortem. It featured the quote below. This quote does not support the voter suppression narrative. “Roughly 1.14 million African-American voters cast ballots in the election, and exit polls show the overwhelming majority backed Abrams. In 2014, Michelle Nunn’s U.S. Senate campaign earned a total of 1.16 million votes. That means the number of black voters who went to the polls for Abrams in November was nearly equal to the number of all Democratic votes cast four years earlier.”

Here is a piece I wrote about this. I prefer WBTS, because it is a more accurate description of the conflict. When the colonies declared independence, there was no thought given to an all powerful federal government. The conflict of what powers go to the federal government, and which powers go to the state, is one of the defining controversies of our history. When the southern states seceded, the concept of the federal union was not nearly as strong as it it today. Today we take for granted the concept of the strong federal government, with the states being regional governing districts. IMO, we are better off as a federal union. If the south had won the war, we would have wound up like 18th century Europe… a collection of small nations that were constantly at war with one another.

Has Anti-Racism Become as Harmful as Racism? John McWhorter vs. Nikhil Singh Here is a blog post about AR. I compare AR to homophobia. Much as a closet homosexual will try to cover his own insecurities by calling someone else faggot, a person who is not sure about his own racial values will try to cover himself by calling his neighbor racist. I received a powerful bit of confirmation for this. I received an anonymous comment. “Why don’t you get your white sheets and come out already” ~ Dr. McWhorter makes a comment about voter suppression, ending at 50:06. He makes the ritual denunciation of Republican voter suppression. As a resident of GA, I have witnessed the recent election from hell. The Democrats made voter suppression their centerpiece issue. I feel that the Democratic claims were exaggerated. It served as a dandy issue for the Democrats, and they almost won. If anyone is interested, I can link to several posts on my blog which detail this. In many ways, voter suppression became a code word for racism in this campaign. One aspect of the racism/anti racism quagmire is the use of racism as a campaign tactic. Anti-Racism was used as a tactic by the Democrats in 2016. IMO, this was one of the reasons Donald Trump was elected.

What Do You Mean By Overseeing?

Exactly what do you mean by “overseeing”? As I understand it, the counties register voters, set up the polls, count the votes, and send the results to the SOS. What does the SOS do? In all probability, the county is responsible for sending drop cords to the polling place, not the state. It would be helpful if you have a source from a government website to detail this. So many people become instant experts when discussing this issue. Another confusing issue is deletion of inactive voters. Is this done by the county, the state, or a combination of the two? If it is a combination, how do we tell who does what? If you look at the various county websites, you will see that the county clearly does registration and counting. This is what Fulton County says. This is one of the counties where voting machines were sequestered in a warehouse, resulting in long lines. ~ Department of Registration and Elections The Registration and Elections Department is responsible for conducting elections in Fulton County and registering voters who reside within Fulton County. ~ Israel’s Netanyahu survives early poll threat ~ election was not stolen ~ Signature mismatches, missing birthdays and errant spouses: Why thousands of absentee ballots were tossed out in Georgia ~ absentee ballots in georgia ~ What You’re Saying When You Say “I Don’t Need a Mic” ~ Hollywood stars revolt after Brian Kemp’s election; Georgia leaders fight back ~ Stacey Abrams calls Kemp Georgia’s ‘legal’ governor, won’t say he’s legitimate ~ Federal judge blocks Georgia ‘exact match’ voter ID law ~ Airbnb drops Israeli settlements from listings ~ 5 things to know about who runs Georgia’s elections ~ In Defense of Puns ~ How to Talk to People, According to Terry Gross ~ Why Airbnb Will Have a Hard Time Enforcing Its Israeli Settlement Ban ~ Stacey Abrams Says She Was Almost Blocked From Voting In Georgia Election ~ stacey last year ~ Voter registration fraud alleged at Democratic-backed group ~ The new New Georgia Project: Stacey Abrams’s $10 million plan to double down on voter registration William Perry, founder of Georgia Ethics Watchdog, believes the lawmaker should make her financial records from her voter registration work public … “It gives cause to worry when there’s someone stirring so many pots … In a perfect world, anything you’re doing that would influence a campaign or an election should be disclosed. The counties conduct elections, count votes, and register voters. The only thing I can see the SOS doing is maintaining the voter rolls, and totaling the votes from the counties. And, in this election, taking the blame for anything that goes wrong. I have googled this. The only thing I have not found is exactly who is responsible for maintaining the voter rolls. ~ I think they should have a longer grace period, than the current 3 years. However, if you don’t vote, eventually you should be taken off the rolls. ~ Mr. Kemp, are you removing black voters from the voter rolls just so you can win this election? … And these lists are violently racially prejudiced. … He has closed stations in neighborhoods of voters of color, in Atlanta, for example, in the 6th Georgia Congressional District. He will be the one—when people go to the polling stations and find they’ve been purged, and they fill out those provisional ballots, it will be Brian Kemp who decides whether they get counted. Absentee ballots—you just heard how panicked he was about the massive number of absentee ballots coming in from voters of color, from Democrats. And he’s going to be able to decide which of those ballots get counted. ~ This is the story of the mass exodus from Georgia that never happened, and the mass purge of voters by Kemp, GOP candidate for governor, through methods guaranteed to disproportionately take away the vote from the young, the poor and voters of color…. Another expert on our team, Mark Swedlund, is not surprised the postcard trick captures Black and poor voters disproportionately. “It doesn’t shock me at all. Response rates are lower among people of color, in particular among African-American renters,” he said. ~ Because that’s the signal that this heartbreaking story will become the hammer to smash the Kemp-created Jim Crow machine…. More revolutionary is that she is the first Democratic candidate to demand an end to racist ethnic cleansing of the voter rolls. ~ Crashes of Convenience: Michael Hastings ~ Kemp didn’t even bother to hide any of his actions. He used his office to commit voter suppression through propaganda, loopholes and outright lies. He put on a disgraceful masterclass in voter suppression and his legacy as governor should be forever tainted by the well-worn, white supremacist tactics he employed. ~ State officials appear to have singled out black voters in targeted purges. Kemp also canceled or suspended 35,000 voter registrations using Exact Match, a version of Kris Kobach’s notorious Crosscheck program that compares registrants’ information with motor vehicle and Social Security databases. If a single letter, space, or hyphen did not match the database information, the voter application was rejected. Black voters were eight times more likely than whites to have their registrations halted due to Exact Match. ~ pictures today are from The Library of Congress. ~ selah
