@chamblee54 What would have happened, if someone took a poll in Germany, in 1933, with this question. Do you agree or disagree with this statement: “It’s OK to be Jewish”? ~ dilbert “you didn’t expect today did you” ~ “Saturday will be the continent’s largest democratic exercise and one of the largest in the world,” said Stacey Abrams, co-leader of the National Democratic Institute and International Republican Institute election mission to Nigeria.“What happens this weekend will have wide-ranging impacts across the globe,” Abrams, a former US Congress minority leader, told Al Jazeera on Friday. ~ hotep jesus sees white people as being inferior to Indians. If he is going to move somewhere, he wants to be near the Indians ~ @chamblee54 After @HotepJesus talks to celebrity racist @ScottAdamsSays … “let’s do a poll on Scott. Do do you think Scott is racist. Is that fair ~ “Anybody who has the privilege of meeting me, gets some Advantage. Because I’m like all primed to give advice. I like giving advice. So yeah, the smartest thing anybody would do is ask me for advice. Which happens a lot” @HotepJesus @ScottAdamsSays ~ Dick Cavett, Raquel Welch, and Janis Joplin How do you know an entire audience is homosexual? … Well it wasn’t all homosexual because Janis was there. ~ There is a story, which may or may not be true. Either Kate or Cindy, from the B52’s, was talking to some people in the parking lot. Someone was talking on and on about Mick Jagger. Mick Jagger this, and Mick Jagger that. Finally, the Wig Lady had enough of his nonsense. “Fuck Mick Jagger. One day Mick Jagger will come to see me.” ~ Reply to Statues: The People They Salute: Someone reposted this. I googled the quote, and the result was from Snopes. I have good reason to believe that Ben Franklin never said this. Unfortunately, I chose to post the link from Snopes. At this point, the issue became not Ben Franklin, but Snopes … a source with a checkered past. After the initial bit of Snopes-bashing, I went to Mr. Franklin’s wikiquotes page. The quote about authority shown above does not appear. As Snopes mentions, The Franklin Papers at Yale University do not have this quote. Since Mr. Franklin was a man of letters, if this quote is genuine, there should be a clear source for it. This is a discussion about questioning authority. In this case, the authority is a facebook meme. While Snopes is not an especially compelling authority by itself, it has more authority than a facebook meme. Both of which are outweighed by a simple search of the wikiquotes, which does not have this quote. When you are talking about questioning authority, you should be careful which authority gives you the authority to question authority. The Snopes-bashers told me to contact you, the source of this quote. What is your source of this? If you have an authentic source, then I will withdraw my claim, and admit error. ~ @chamblee54 “Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth.” ― Albert Einstein “Autoritätsdusel ist der größte Feind der Wahrheit.” Autoritätsdusel: “authority gone to one’s head”, “the stupor of authority” ~ I heard somewhere that the phrase/concept “politically incorrect” took root in the Soviet Union. A “fact” was said to be factually accurate, but politically incorrect. In this dialog, my reference to Snopes was factually accurate, but socially incorrect. Snopes said many of the things that I found, including the reference to Tim Leary. However, my use of Snopes gave you an easy excuse to dismiss what I said about the original quote. ~ @michaelharriot If you were taught that “states’ rights” caused a Civil War…Or wondered why people shed white tears over monuments of mustachioed un-American traitors… Or seen a Confederate flag at an insurrection Well, you can thank one family of white supremacist nepo babies A thread ~ @chamblee54 attn #JKRowling haters: the first episode was boring. you are not going to get me to listen to the rest @bariweiss @kittypurrzog ~ “serious linguist” @trogmignon Previously I felt a great affection towards the Dutch, but now as I attempt to study their language I feel a great hate instead ~ ahh shoot You can type an address into this device, and it will show you the location of all the shootings between 2014 and 2023, in a one mile radius ~ as you know I’ve been identifying as black for a while years now because I like you know I like to be on the winning team and I like to help and I always thought well if you help the black community that’s sort of the biggest lever you know you could you can find the the biggest benefit so I thought well that’s the hardest thing and the biggest benefit so I’d like to focus a lot of my life resources in helping black Americans so much so that I started identifying as black to just be on the team I was helping but it turns out that nearly half of that team doesn’t think I’m okay to be white which is of course why I identified as black because so I could be on the winning team for a while but I have to say this is the first political poll that ever changed my activities I don’t know that that’s ever happened before you know normally you see a poll you just look at it you go ah whatever yeah oh this is interesting what other people think but as of today I’m going to re-identify as white because I don’t want to be a member of a hate group I had accidentally joined a hate group so if if you know nearly half of All Blacks are not okay with white people according to this poll not according to me according to this poll that’s a hate group that’s a hate group ~ pictures for this fecality festival are from The Library of Congress ~ selah
