There was a blogginheadstv chat between two ivy league professors. They were discussing the problem of sitting next to someone on a plane, when the person insists on talking. One of the profs is an economics guy, and frequently has complicated looking equations on a scratch pad. The seatmate will look on, and realize he/she is clueless. The attention getting comment was “your confession of ignorance is of absolutely no interest to me”.

Mr. Google typically puts ten results on the first page. For this eleven word phrase, the top result is apparently sponsored. There is a book, Confessions of a Subprime Lender: An Insider’s Tale of Greed, Fraud, and Ignorance. Perhaps Mr. Google confused intellectual interest for return on principle.

If you want to see all the results, google the key phrase to this feature. We will only discuss the ones that appear interesting. Confessions Of An Abortionist shows a bit of promise. A young doctor is struggling to start a practice, A young girl comes in to see him about her problem. The doctor refuses to help, and the girl shoots herself. The doctor feels guilty. The story goes on, if you want to follow the link.

The next result is from “AskACatholic.com”. 60 years old and struggling with concupiscence and sins of the flesh is the story of Jenny Anonymous. “I am 60 years old. I have never been married and I have never had sexual relations with a man or women. I am attracted to my own sex but, like I said above, I have never had sexual relations. I have never lived in or been a part of the homosexual community and would never consider doing that. I have not come out of the closet, as they say, and never will. I’ve hidden this all my life. My only means of sexual gratification is masturbation.” The suggestions from “Mike” include “not doing dummy things, like receiving Holy Communion without first going to Confession. (the Pope goes to confession weekly!) … and having a healthy view of the demonic.”

The next to last result was the wikiquote page for On the road. There are no motivational posters, with OTR quotes, for investigation today. “As we crossed the Colorado-Utah border I saw God in the sky in the form of huge sunburning clouds above the desert that seemed to point a finger at me and say, “Pass here and go on, you’re on the road to heaven.” Pictures are courtesy of Gwinnett county.
