“I work to live, I don’t live to work” Does your heart stop beating when you clock in? · @SobSax Longtime Creative Loafing writer and editor Cliff Bostock has died after a long battle with cancer. Hs article for Creative Loafing’s 50th anniversary issue, its last in print, discussed attitudes toward journalism, · Attorney Ashleigh Merchant has filed a motion to try to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to comply with a subpoena ordering her to testify on Thursday at an evidentiary hearing against Willis’ office. Jean Dunaway died on 18 December 1998 at Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, at age 76. · Arthur Eugene Dunaway born March 3, 1894 died May 8, 1930 · 9-11 Part Two ·
For a long time, I posted my 9-11 story every year, on September 11.. This year, the Presidential debate was on September 10, and it dominated “the conversation” on September 11. Maybe we are moving on, and giving 9-11 its proper place in history. · 2001: A Space Odyssey came out in 1968. 2ASO presented a vision of the future. It turns out the reality of 2001 was “terrorists” using our space age technology against us, with devastating results. HAL, the murderous computer, may have been the one prophecy that did come true. · 9-11 was a watershed moment. 9-11 was caused by what came before, and affected what came after. We will never know the full story. 2001 was neck deep in the digital revolution, giving the conspiracy talkers a handy forum for their wonderful opinions. Unfortunately, not everyone has integrity, or good intentions. Whether 9-11 was an inside job, or a terrorist attack, the US government gained a great deal of power. Most of the things they did with it did not work out very well. This has also powered the conspiracy industrial complex. · In the last five years,Whe we have had four watershed events: COVID 19, George Floyd, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and October 7. Each component of this grand slam has similarities and differences to each other, and to 9-11. All five events have had a fruit basket turnover effect. Liberals have become conseratives, conservatives have become liberals, and many have wondered why we need those labels anyway. Hypocrisy has become the national pastime. · This is the first paragraph, faithfully pasted in every year: “This is my 911 story. I repeat it every year at this time. Every year I say this will be the last time. This year is a mess. We are destroying the village to save it. The action part of 091101 was over by 11 am. This quagmire drags on and on. Nobody knows how things will turn out.” · One more paragraph is worth repeating: “I became alienated from Jesus during these years. Once, I had once been tolerant of Christians and Jesus, as one would be with an eccentric relative. I began to loath the entire affair. I hear of others who found comfort in religion during this difficult time. That option simply was not available for me.” After September 11/October 7, this fear and loathing has extended to all popular versions of Yahweh worship. · Pictures from Special Collections and Archives, Georgia State University Library. “This item is part of a collection of images of downtown Atlanta streets that were taken before the viaduct construction of 1927 – 1929. Some of the covered streets became part of Underground Atlanta.” · Notes on the State of Virginia · Notes on the State of Virginia is the only full length book written by Thomas Jefferson.. Written while the Revolutionary War was still being fought, NOTSIV was not intended for publication. The following passage is on page 147. · “It will probably be asked, Why not retain and incorporate the blacks into the state, and thus save the expence of supplying, by importation of white settlers, the vacancies they will leave? Deep rooted prejudices entertained by the whites; ten thousand recollections, by the blacks, of the injuries they have sustained; new provocations; the real distinctions which nature has made; and many other circumstances, will divide us into parties, and produce convulsions which will probably never end but in the extermination of the one or the other race.” · “… Besides those of colour, figure, and hair, there are other physical distinctions proving a difference of race. They have less hair on the face and body. They secrete less by the kidnies, and more by the glands of the skin, which gives them a very strong and disagreeable odour. This greater degree of transpiration renders them more tolerant of heat, and less so of cold, than the whites. … They seem to require less sleep. A black after hard labour through the day, will be induced by the slightest amusemements to sit up till midnight, or later, though knowing he must be out with the first dawn of the morning.” · “They are at least as brave, and more adventuresome. But this may perhaps proceed from a want of fore-thought, which prevents their seeing a danger till it be present. When present, they do not go through it with more coolness or steadiness than the whites. They are more ardent after their female: but love seems with them to be more an eager desire, than a tender delicate mixture of sentiment and sensation. Their griefs are transient. Those numberless afflictions, which render it doubtful whether heaven has given life to us in mercy or in wrath, are less felt, and sooner forgotten with them. …” · Pictures are from The Library of Congress · selah · Cliff Bostock · @SobSax Longtime Creative Loafing writer and editor Cliff Bostock has died after a long battle with cancer.. Hs article for Creative Loafing’s 50th anniversary issue, its last in print, discussed attitudes toward journalism … · I had not heard anything from Cliff in a while. In the early nineties, you could not avoid him. He wrote restaurant reviews for Creative Loafing, and intensely personal pieces for Etc. That article gives you a feel for the voice of Cliff Bostock. · Cliff had a story, and a point of view. Defiantly gay, scarred by the AIDS calamity, Cliff said plenty of things you are not supposed to say. For a while, he was pumping out 3,000 words a week, for anyone who cared to read. “Intensely personal” may not be adequate to describe his work. One person said he would rather walk naked down Peachtree Street, than publish things like that. · It turns out that Cliff has been writing for Georgia Voice. Fagrags are not what they used to be, and they are doing without me as a reader. Cliff has, as usual, vocal about his experience. (March 8 April 6 June 7) Glioblastoma multiforme is the vehicle for this one way journey. · AIDS is a constant presense here. I believe I once saw Cliff write something about getting tested, followed by a staunch refusal to give his own results. Whatever the outcome, Cliff managed to hang on to life until now, which is an achievement. ” I often feel like my mind is hosting a marathon séance, with dead friends constantly popping into my head.” · In the early oughts, Gay.com was an online hangout. Cliff adopted the name Bachelard, and made his presense known. I was PiersGavestonJr … two chatters named after Frenchmen. Labor Day was the first monday of September, which meant Little 5 Poetry Bash. I printed my new poem, and looked at the list of podcasts.. Lo and behold, there was an episode of Noble I had missed.
Labor is a good day for traffic. I set out from Brookhaven at 18:10, for a 19:30 start. I got to the promised land early, and went to Rag-O-Rama. $22 is too much for a used t-shirt. Next stop was a cannabis store. There was promising talk about a new product, which may require further attention. L5PB was splendid, as usual. The core group of poets was there, with terrific product from all parties. Collin Kelley, a mainstay of Atlanta words, was the delightful feature. A lady/dog team came from Cave Springs, to tell a tale of Artemis and Appollo. I kept thinking of Gomer’s cousin, Artemis Pyle, who played in Lynyrd Skynyrd. L5PB takes place in the lobby of 7 Stages. There are two problems. 7S has a collection of bright lights in the ceiling above the speaker. There are also the big red letters MAIN STAGE, which is has too much anagramic temptation (inamorata petting cam) for this addict. In a life hack moment, I solved both problems with a baseball hat. The best way to go home is to take a left onto Colquitt, and go down to N. Highland. After a stop in the Manuel’s parking lot, Noble was coming over the speakers. This episode dealt with the Marsh family story, without going overboard with talk of racism. Finally, after the renovated North Druid Hills bridge, Taco Bell came into view. The last part of L5PB is getting my mystery meat fix. Next month will be more of the same. DC has a podcast about history, with a series about Israel-Palestine being especially well regarded.. People who follow @martyrmade know that sometimes DC says things you don’t want to hear. The TSMC/DC gabfest … which was well sponsored by commercial interruptions … settled on World War 2. As with many historic events, WW2 has a standard American viewpoint, which you challenge at your peril. DC said things that you are not supposed to say. Many observers are outraged. One wonders how many of the angry commenters actually listened to the show. I heard the show. Some points were reasonable, while others were not. It seems like we are going through another phase of our appreciation for that conflict. This is an ongoing historic process. Some responses are reasonable. As is often the case, you have to read a bit to find out anything. Here is an example: @GrayConnolly “I am finally watching the @martyrmade / Tucker discussion on Churchill. I am not sure who among the critics have actually watched it. As I dislike Twitter pile-ons, I think everyone should watch what X says before X is put in the tumbril. My response as a Churchillian below.” Look at the way America deals with the War Between the States. First there was a bloody war. After about sixty years, there started to be reconciliation between the Union and the Confederacy. Now we are in Phase 3, where the only permitted dialog is condemnation of the Confederates. This same reckoning is going on with WW2, and is not well recieved by some parties. WW1, which created many of the conditions which led to WW2, is mostly ignored. Maybe that is how this is going to go. Vietnam is always a contentious topic, while few talk about Korea. These things too shall pass. Sunday was the freebie-friendly Summer Shade Festival in Grant Park.. Monday was for pulling merchandise out of my bag, a process known as de-swagging. REVOLUTION, n. In politics, an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.. Specifically, in American history, the substitution of the rule of an Administration for that of a Ministry, whereby the welfare and happiness of the people were advanced a full half-inch. Revolutions are usually accompanied by a considerable effusion of blood, but are accounted worth it—this appraisement being made by beneficiaries whose blood had not the mischance to be shed. The French revolution is of incalculable value to the Socialist of to-day; when he pulls the string actuating its bones its gestures are inexpressibly terrifying to gory tyrants suspected of fomenting law and order. · Ambrose Gwinnett Bierce published The Devil’s Dictionary in 1906, when revolutions were evolving into what can only be termed good, clean fun. Lately, I have been walking.. I try to go for a couple of miles, in the morning before the heat becomes obnoxious. Today, I went out New Peachtree, until the MARTA line goes overhead, and I can walk under to another Peachtree. … The spell check suggestion for Peachtree is Peacekeeper. This is the last remnants of Peachtree Road, before it collides with Peachtree Boulevard. Many oldtimers still say Peachtree Industrial, which has a fifties retro feel to it. When you cross the road, you find a sidewalk in front of Peachtree Country Club. During the MARTA construction era, my mother was fond of saying that the golf course was willed to the Catholic Church in perpetuity. Of course, a few feet were shaved off to accomodate another lane on Peachtree. A few hundred yards down the sidewalk, I came to a half eaten bagel, a fork, a plastic box lined with old food, and a lid for a box. I carry plastic bags in my pack, and I got one for this detritous. Of course, there is not a trash can between here and the school dumpster, but there will be something else to put in that bag. There is a law in Georgia. Whenever you hear someone say “wish” in a sentence, you are required to say a bit of commodity wisdom. “You can shit in one hand, and wish in the other, and see which hand gets full faster.” You should wash your hands no matter whether you hope or defecate. There is a more useful version. You can wish in a plastic bag. Or, you can pick up trash, and put it in the plastic bag. One bag will get full before the other. Washing your hands is still a good idea. Pictures today are from The Library of Congress. · Is congress in session? Both of our senators are at the Kamala rally. Sen. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently spoke before a joint session of Congress.. Many people, myself included, did not approve. I became curious about my representatives, and their response. On July 26, 2024, at 12:20, I called the Atlanta offices of Sen. Jon Ossoff (470-786-7800) and Sen. Rafael Warnock (770-694-7828.) I left this message: “I have a question for _____ . Did you attend the address before Congress by Benjamin Netanyahu? If the answer is yes, then I am deeply ashamed of you.” At 12:40, I called the Decatur office of Rep. Hank Johnson (770-987-2291.) A person answered the phone. I asked the same question. Rep. Johnson did not attend the address. As it turns out, I am in GA05, which is represented by Nikema Williams. Hank Johnson represents GA04. My neighborhood is in a different district every time the district boundaries are drawn. Mistakes are easy to make. At 13:20, I called the Atlanta office of Rep. Nikema Williams (404-659-0116.) I left a message on the machine. At 16:10, Jon Ossoff’s office returned my call. Sen. Ossoff did attend the address by PM Netanyahu. At the time this post was written, I have not heard from Sen. Warnock or Rep. Williams. Neither @ossoff nor @ReverendWarnock has made a comment on X about the address. At 14:48 on Jul 24 @RepNikema sent a tweet that began “I met with the families of Israeli hostages …” The tweet made an anodyne statement about freeing hostages, and ending “the violence in Gaza.” It did not refer to the appearance of PM Netanyahu before Congress. @RepHankJohnson “I will be boycotting Netanyahu’s speech today. Rather than working on @POTUS’ ceasefire deal that would halt the indiscriminate killing & starvation in Gaza, Netanyahu is here, again interfering in U.S. electoral politics with his support for ex-president Trump & MAGA.” In 2003, I was concerned about the impending invasion of Iraq. @LiZaOutlives Liza Minnelli has outlived Dr. Ruth Westheimer whose many television appearances made her America’s best-known sex counselor. ~ Samsung Next, a corporate venture arm of South Korea-based conglomerate Samsung, is shutting down its office in Israel. … The departure comes due to the ongoing war in Gaza and amid calls for an embargo on Israel over human rights concerns in Gaza, which have led to a decline in confidence in the Israeli economy. Ratings agency S&P Global cut Israel’s long-term ratings and Israel’s GDP fell 5.7% in the last quarter of 2023. ~ Hello Melissa Manchester. This is the story about how I became a fan. One time during the Nixon Administration, Martin Mull opened for you at the Great Southeast Music Hall, in Atlanta GA. I was a fan of Mr. Mull, and knew little about you. The only thing I knew is that someone I know saw you on tv, and thought you were lousy. After seeing Mr. Mull (not the same Mr. Mull who repaired our TV in the fifties), I stayed for the headliner. You were terrific. I became a fan. I even went back to GSEMH to see you a second time, when James Newton Howard was in your band. And so we have lived our lives. Sadly, we recently lost Martin Mull. This prompted a comment to your facebook endeavor, which led to this comment. You and I are still going. I cannot say I have ever bought anything by you, but I still have the memory of seeing you perform all those years ago. ~ “has it ever occurred to you,’ he said, ‘that the whole history of English poetry has been determined by the fact that the English language lacks rhymes?'” —1984 ~ there is a Maddow-pants-on-fire story in the news cycle. I wrote about the story in 2020. If this slack blogger can easily see the problems with a story, why was MSNBC fooled? ~ The Uterus Collector Part Two
Judge says Maddow, other MSNBC hosts made ‘verifiably false’ statements about doctor suing for defamation. This is how one outlet covered the latest Maddow-pants-on-fire story. At first glance, this is not newsworthy. However, curiosity got the best of me, and I looked into the story. I soon realized that I had written a blog post about the story.. When I hear that something I wrote four years ago might be relevant, my instinct is to look for it. Unfortunately, Google advanced search was not helpful. Even a post titled The Uterus Collector is missed by the algorithm, when searching for “uterus” at chamblee54.wordpress. . It is almost as if someone did not want me to find it. Fortunately, I have other methods for finding old posts. Here is what the chamblee54 post found. “The story broke with a report from Project South. The whistle blower was Dawn Wooten. video video Ms. Wooten, a single mother of 5, worked at ICDC (Irwin County Detention Center) until her hours were cut, after a dispute about Covid-19 infection. As is the case with many workplace stories, there are conflicting accounts.” … “The focus of the complaint is inadequate safety measures, taken with regard to Covid-19. “Priyanka Bhatt, staff attorney at … Project South, told The Washington Post that she included the hysterectomy allegations because she wanted to trigger an investigation. …” “If ICDC did not have the resources to provide adequate safeguards against Covid-19 infection, how are they going to have the resources to provide hysterectomies? … a hysterectomy can cost thousands of dollars and both ICE and the private companies that contract with the agency to oversee its detention centers notoriously provide dangerous and substandard medical care to cut costs and maximize profits.” There are more problems with TUC narrative, which you can see at the post. This post was thrown together by an old white guy with too much free time. Why was he able to see this better than a major news organization? ~ there is a legendary chain of male bonding. It goes from Oscar Wilde, to Walt Whitman, to Edward Carpenter, to Gavin Arthur, to Neal Cassady, to Allen Ginsberg. Or so the story goes. ~ @octopuscaveman If it was staged he didn’t go far enough. @ori_goldberg 1/ The IDF and Shin Bet have released Shifa hospital director Mohammad Abu Salmiya after months of detention back to the Gaza strip. Israel’s government is in an uproar. This state of affairs demonstrates the depths of Israel’s unhinged mendacity. —> ~ Fiction Issue ~ @NYerFiction “New fiction by Sally Rooney, in The New Yorker’s annual Fiction Issue.” Back in the corner newstand days, the AFI was a lot of fun.. I miss dead tree magazines, and decided to go out and get a copy. Barnes & Noble was still open on Perimeter Center W. I had not been in a bookstore in a long time. They still smell the same. The price was going to be ridiculous, but it was time for a foolish extravaagence. The periodicals were against the western wall. I looked carefully in every section, but did not see TNY. A second examination of the magazine shelf yielded the same result. A lady said that some magazines were in a rack by the front. In the second rack we perused, TNY was for sale. The cost was $8.99, before tax. It was not the summer fiction issue. Pictures today are from The Library of Congress ~ @mtracey Presidents enjoyed functional immunity from criminal prosecution for “official acts” between 1789 and 2023. Now, the Supreme Court has codified that immunity. This is largely thanks to the Special Counsel purporting to criminalize a massive array of “official” actions undertaken by Trump, such as conferring with Justice Department officials, conferring with the Vice President, and even Tweeting — under a cockamamie and newly concocted theory designed to specifically prosecute Trump. Given the clear excesses of this literal “conspiracy theory” proposed by Jack Smith, the Court has accordingly formalized a wide-ranging immunity for all presidents, even for future “official acts” which might be more narrow and concrete, and related to more straightforwardly “unlawful” conduct. So if the President has now been accorded King-like immunities for his “core Constitutional” acts, as well as far-reaching “presumptive immunity” for his “official” acts, the reason for this new monarchical standard ultimately stems from the heedless crusade of Jack Smith and the DOJ ~ but when you impose meaningful search parameters, the truth emerges: The charges against Trump are obscure, and nearly entirely unprecedented. In fact, no state prosecutor — in New York, or Wyoming, or anywhere — has ever charged federal election laws as a direct or predicate state crime, against anyone, for anything. None. Ever. Even putting aside the specifics of election law, the Manhattan DA itself almost never brings any case in which falsification of business records is the only charge. Standing alone, falsification charges would have been mere misdemeanors under New York law, which posed two problems for the DA. First, nobody cares about a misdemeanor, and it would be laughable to bring the first-ever charge against a former president for a trifling offense that falls within the same technical criminal classification as shoplifting a Snapple and a bag of Cheetos from a bodega. Second, the statute of limitations on a misdemeanor — two years — likely has long expired on Trump’s conduct, which dates to 2016 and 2017. So, to inflate the charges up to the lowest-level felony (Class E, on a scale of Class A through E) — and to electroshock them back to life within the longer felony statute of limitations — the DA alleged that the falsification of business records was committed “with intent to commit another crime.” Here, according to prosecutors, the “another crime” is a New York State election-law violation, which in turn incorporates three separate “unlawful means”: federal campaign crimes, tax crimes, and falsification of still more documents. Inexcusably, the DA refused to specify what those unlawful means actually were — and the judge declined to force them to pony up — until right before closing arguments. So much for the constitutional obligation to provide notice to the defendant of the accusations against him in advance of trial. (This, folks, is what indictments are for.) In these key respects, the charges against Trump aren’t just unusual. They’re bespoke, seemingly crafted individually for the former president and nobody else. ~ @Fritschner “Kennedy told the person, who was traveling to Asia, that he might enjoy a restaurant in Korea that served dog on the menu, suggesting Kennedy had sampled dog. The photo was taken in 2010, according to… metadata—the same year he was diagnosed with a dead tapeworm in his brain.” ~ On July 3, 1981, an article appeared deep inside the New York Times. “RARE CANCER SEEN IN 41 HOMOSEXUALS.” Very few people knew how big that story was going to get. The author, Lawrence K. Altman, is still writing for the NYT. ~ Tyler Mahan Coe (chaotic good) @TylerMahanCoe I know I’m supposed to ignore the trolls but it’s so difficult to do when I know they became the way they are from feeling ignored by their mommies … @chamblee54 If only they hadn’t been drunk the day she got out of prison … the tweet has been deleted. ~ Every night for a thousand years. ~ “I do not need to wash my hands every day!” The words were probably grumbled in many bars, ball games and bathrooms across the country. You both get all over muddy . . . and the pig likes it.’” @chamblee54 When clicking on this link, I found myself in an argument with google ads. Arguing with the algorithm is the modern version of wrestling with a pig. ~ Prompt If I Were a Photograph or Picture this – I confirmed that it was blow up, and not throw up. That moment I captured at Krystal left room for doubt. The lady who took my order asked if I wanted to take an art portrait of her. I thought I would let it slide, since I knew that art was slang for porn, and there was no lens strong enough to make the onion hamburger smell go away. But there was no film in my camera anyway, and you can take that at face value, or think that it is a cliche metaphor. I wanted to be kind to the lady, so I ordered a sack full of Krystalburgers, and prayed that I would be alive when I finished eating them. The happy krystal habit is not what it used to be. If only they had white castles in georgia, but you can’t have everything. I can always settle for the mystery meat at taco bell, my true idea of junk food nirvana. Meanwhile, the rain is coming down here, and I am going to continue to type until the call to action. Maybe I could have considered what I could have done to make a naked krystalburger mama look like something other than the way those hamburgers smell. In the old days, of the Krystal emporium on peachtree industrial boulevard, across from the frito plant, the management would not have tolerated a krystalburger princess asking a poet to take her art portrait, with or without the side of fries. ~ “He sounded terrible and then he went to Waffle House and then was fine.” “He was reinvigorated by the Waffle House.” “I want to know what he ordered.” ~ pictures today are from The Library of Congress ~ selah

Accident Waiting To Happen ~ Here is Liverpool native Malcolm McDowell talking about seeing the Silver Beetles at the Cavern Club one two ~ @AdameMedia “I am personally proud of the ruins of Gaza, and that every baby, even 80 years from now, will tell their grandchildren what the Jews did,” The Minister of Social Equality in Israel, Mai Golan… ~ @ofcrdeonjoseph IT WAS STUPID. BUT I WAS FED UP Note: Please do not do what I did. In all truth, it’s just not worth it. So a few days ago, I went to the store to get stuff for my wife off duty. As I entered I saw this tall, blond. She was tanned with designer sunglasses. You could tell she had a lot work done. She was at the counter asking weird questions to the cashier. It was a strange exchange, that was circular. It was odd. But it felt as if it was a distraction. As I start to walk deeper into the store, I see a well dressed young man with tattoos on his neck and arms. He had a bottle of Hennessy in his hand as he walked from the alcohol section very calmly towards the exit. I heard the cashier yell at the man “I SAW YOU TAKE THAT! YOU GOTTA PAY FOR THAT!” As he walks towards the exit, he laughs stating “I’m sorry ma’am. Don’t worry about it.” She yells for him to put it back again, to which he replied “I’m sorry ma’am. I can’t put it back. Once I’m out the door it’s mine. You know the rules! You can’t do nothing” The blond walked out with him as the alarm went off. They were both laughing. The cashier was demoralized. Seemed like this was a reoccurring theme for her. I just witnessed a theft. Everything in me was trying to resist going after him. “It’s just property. The police won’t even come for this. Why bother? He will just get released in an hour or two. What if you get into an altercation? The DA will file on you before they file on him. The department will burn you. You have a family. It’s just a bottle of booze. Don’t get involved. You’re off. Just be a good witness if the police arrive.” But he was so brazen about it. So cavalier. I kept trying to talk my self down, but I couldn’t help it. It wasn’t about the property. It was the principle. The look of frustration on the cashiers face was affecting me. The customers who were doing it right, who were going to pay for their items with their hard earned money staring angrily at the door as the idiot exited smiling. At this point, it had nothing to do with me being a cop. It had everything to do with me being a fed up, and tired of the lawlessness and hopelessness it causes. I thought of all the stores closing because of folks like this. The jobs lost. My mind, my heart and body were in full agreement. I marched out the door and caught him before he hit the lot. “Bro. Imma need you to put that back. He cursed as he turned to face me, but when he saw my stature, he froze and said. “Come on. You Black. You know how we do!” He was Hispanic. “Walk your ass back into that store and put it back.” I said. He looked as me and said “It’s mine. I walked in with it!” He told so many lies in a span of one minute it was mind numbing. I said “People are sick of this shit bro. You know they have to raise their prices because of the shit you just did. I’m telling you to put it back!” He looked at me and said “Nah. I’m going to my ride and leaving. Do you know who I am? I’m a TikTok star.” He walked over to a red Mercedes, where the blond was sitting in the driver’s seat. I followed him. “Nah, bruh. That ain’t happening.” He stuck his chest out like he was going to do something. But when I stepped toward him he pushed it back in. His lady was nervous. She rolls down the window and says to him. “Mi amore. I’ll hold it.” He gives it to her and smiles stating “I don’t have it no more Sug Knight!” The blond reaches towards me and hand hands me the bottle. She apologized and tells him to get in the car. “Bitch! Why you give him that shit!” He yelled. She said “What if the calls the cops. Let’s get outta here mi amore!” He goes to his trunk. I don’t flinch. I told him he wasn’t going to do shit. And he didn’t. An off duty sheriff deputy came backed me up. I thanked him and walked back into the store. I approached the clerk, and placed it on the counter. The cashier and customers smiled and thanked me. It felt good to give folks hope. The way we should. ~ Samsung – Galaxy A15 5G 128GB (Unlocked) ~ Gatorade Baptism
Manley Pointer was looking at X one tuesday morning, trying to stay out of trouble.. He found this item from @catholiccom “What, you thought we weren’t gonna talk about baptizing with Gatorade?” A praying man was about to be hit with an onslaught of brightly colored liquid, coming out of a Gatorade cooler in the sky. To a Catholic, baptize means to sprinkle a few drops of sacred fluid on the forehead. To a Baptist, babtize means filling a tub with water, and dunking the recently-saved sinner. To fill that tub with Gatorade would require at least 100 gallons. You can’t drink Baptismal fluid after it has been dunked in. All that lovely Gatorade would have to be poured down the drain. Baptists know that baptizing with Gatorade is a dumb idea, even by Catholic standards. @catholiccom has a link to a story, Gatorade: A Sin-Quencher? You can’t baptize with Gatorade! Right? It might not be so simple. After you click through the request for donations, you get to the story. It seems like the Church built an AI priest, Father Justin. Someone asked FJ if it was ok to Baptize an infant with Gatorade. People have serious discussions about this. You will be forgiven if you do not participate. ~ Lunch today is a tussit special.
