this is the monday morning reader for this no three-peat week. A writing prompt asked: what do you know? “water is wet” This is tough to disagree with. Some logic abuser could. People will argue about anything. ~ I enjoy listening to his videos about Gaza. Is William Scott Ritter a reliable source? I don’t know, even if I find a lot of what he says to be plausible. I like that he is taking a mostly military approach to the war, which is what it is. According to WSR, Hamas is winning militarily. I also find his take on the Iron Dome to be plausible. According to WSR, the Iron Dome uses interceptor missiles to take down incoming missiles. There is a limited number of these interceptors, and Hezbollah has a lot more missiles. This is both plausible, and something the corporate press is quiet about. ~ Pitrolux® works through the combination of deodorant and testosterone. “The “refreshing juniper scent” caused teenage girls to steal it out of daddy’s medicine cabinet, and grow beards.” This is a Florida story. ~ “is this binary the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard?” idk, some of the racism binaries I have heard are pretty stupid ~ This is a repost from 2017. It was a simpler time. Looking back six years, we had it pretty good in 2017. Our biggest problem was an orange haired idiot in the White House. In three years we would melt down over Covid. In five years Russia would invade Ukraine. In six years, Israel would crank up the lawn mower. In these six years, the national debt has gone from $20t to $34t. That is a $14t increase in six years. By comparison, the total debt in 2011 was $14t. America has borrowed more in the last six years, than it did in 235 years previously. … So much for today’s fantasy. This repost is a book report of More Tales Of The City, another fantasy from a more innocent time. MTOTC took place in the San Francisco of 1977. Talk about not knowing when you had it good. ~ More Tales Of The City ~ This is a repost from 2017. It was a simpler time. Looking back six years, we had it pretty good in 2017. Our biggest problem was an orange haired idiot in the White House. In three years we would melt down over Covid. In five years Russia would invade Ukraine. In six years, Israel would crank up the lawn mower. ~ I recently listened to Madeleine Thien read Yoko Ogawa’s “The Cafeteria in the Evening and a Pool in the Rain.” It was a recent podcast, in “The Writer’s Voice.” It is the type of story that I would usually turn off at the earliest opportunity, but for some reason it agreed with my mood. “The Cafeteria …” is about a young lady moving into an old house. On one of her walks, the lady, and her dog, meet a man, and his son. The lady and the man have a conversation about arcane subjects like cafeterias deveining shrimp, and a chocolate machine. We don’t know what the dog and the boy talked about, but it was probably more interesting. Maybe it was my easily amused tuesday state of mind that led me to listen to the entire thing. ~ the problem here is the yes/no nature of the question. If the person is sincerely calling for a final solution 2.0, then yes it is bullying/harassment. However, very few people are calling for a literal elimination of Jews. Usually, people call for something else, and someone hyper-interprets this as a call for genocide. ~ I got riffin’ on something today, and wound up talking about the national debt. The linked post has links for all the claims I make. … This is a repost from 2017. It was a simpler time. Looking back six years, we had it pretty good in 2017. Talk about not knowing when you had it good. ~ I am trying to figure out reddit. Mainly, I am trying to build karma points, so I can post to forums that have kp requirments. I have been going to random spots that will let me post, and trying to get it in. One problem I see is the lack of spaces that will let you post a picture. This is a problem when I try to post a haiku poem. Even r/haiku, which has been very uncooperative. I try to post a link, but setting up a link is a problem. Meanwhile, Jesse Singal made a tweet … or maybe an X-spurt … about a current controversy. Someone sent in a screen shot, and I did a haiku poem. Here is the reddit comment. “Jesse made a tweet about the insanity of considering the word “intifada” to be a call for final solution 2.0. There was a tweet from Jonathan Haidt thrown in. Here is the condensed version of the Haidtweet: universities / punish microaggression men / even residents” So I went into markdown mode, and I found the link in code:  … universities / punish microaggression men / even residents . I copied the code, and substituted the haiku in the [text] That did not work the first time, but I went into markdown mode, took a couple of dashes out, and the link worked. ~ national debt: 2008 $10,025 Bank bailouts; quantitative easing (QE), 2009 $11,910 Bailout cost $250 billion; American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) added $242 billion, 2010 $13,562 ARRA added $400B; payroll tax holiday ended; Obama tax cuts; Affordable Care Act; Simpson-Bowles debt reduction plan, 2011 $14,790 Debt crisis, recession, and tax cuts reduced revenue, 2012 $16,066 Fiscal cliff, 2013 $16,738 Sequester; government shutdown, 2014 $17,824 QE ended; debt ceiling crisis, 2015 $18,151 Oil prices fell, 2016 $19,573 Brexit, 2017 $20,245 Congress raised the debt ceiling, 2018 $21,516 Trump tax cuts, 2019 $22,719 Trade wars, 2020 $26,945 COVID-19 and recession, 2021 $28,428 COVID-19 and American Rescue Plan Act, 2022 $30,928 Inflation Reduction Act ~ LifeSiteNews reported in 2021 that “Milo Yiannopoulos, the gay man whose conservative messaging and willingness to speak the truth sparked riots on university campuses may well trigger more outrage now that he describes himself as “Ex-Gay” and “sodomy free,” and is leading a daily consecration to St. Joseph online.” ~ Milo Yiannopoulos online consecration to St Joseph ~ If you ask google what Milo Yiannopoulos is doing today, you see that he is an intern for Marjorie Taylor Greene. In 2021,LifeSiteNews reported “Milo Yiannopoulos, the gay man whose conservative messaging and willingness to speak the truth sparked riots on university campuses may well trigger more outrage now that he describes himself as “Ex-Gay” and “sodomy free,” and is leading a daily consecration to St. Joseph online.” Google does not have a site for the “daily consecration to St. Joseph online. ~ If you google “What is Milo Yiannopoulos doing today?” you learn that he is an intern for Marjorie Taylor Greene. Another source says “he describes himself as “Ex-Gay” and “sodomy free,” and is leading a daily consecration to St. Joseph online.” Nobody seems to have a link to this “daily consecration to St. Joseph online.” ~ “what is Milo Yiannopoulos doing today?” He is an intern for Marjorie Taylor Greene. @LifeSite reports “he describes himself as “Ex-Gay” and “sodomy free,” and is leading a daily consecration to St. Joseph online.” ~ @AlonLeeGreenאני מצטער, אבל ככה לא נראה ביטחון. עשרות אלפי אנשים מורעבים, ניתוק מים, אלפים שמתגודדים בתור, כאן בווידאו, כדי לקבל טיפת מזון – זה לא מביא לנו ביטחון ולא משרת אותנו בשום צורה. הסבל האנושי וההרג של חפים מפשע רק מרחיק אותנו מבטיחון ולמען האמת, פשוט מחזק עוד יותר את חמאס. – I’m sorry, but that’s not what security looks like. Tens of thousands of starving people, water cut off, thousands who gather in line, here on video, to get a drop of food – this does not bring us security and does not serve us in any way. The human suffering and the killing of innocents only keeps us from security and, frankly, just makes Hamas even stronger. ~ an aspiring academic took the tough love approach to writer’s block. His “white paper” is a classic, and should be quoted more often. @ConceptualJames @peterboghossian @HPluckrose ~ this is just as bad ~ Nikki Haley says protesting mass murder is just as bad as “the KKK” marching on campus. ~ @hausofriya Could an Arabic speaker please help us with how to pronounce Refaat Alareer’s name so when we share his name, it’s respectful to how it’s pronounced please ~ atheist eat shit ~ I just consumed the monolog by @esaagar about the genocide-gate controversy at Ivy League universities. He makes some good points about DEI, hypocrisy and other tiresome topics. What Saagar does not mention is the fact that practically nobody is calling for final solution 2.0. Intifada does not equal Jewish genocide. There have been two Intifadas so far, and there are still millions of Jews. There are a lot of people crying wolf now about anti-semitism. It needs to stop. ~ There was a lady once on the Dick Cavett show. She said the conventional wisdom is that an actor puts a mask on, and goes on stage to play a character. The lady said that the reality is the opposite. People in everyday life wear masks, to play a character. The actor, on the other hand, takes the mask off, and lets you see them for who they really are. ~ Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom ~ “Dear Sir “Dear Sir The problem you had wished to propose to me was one which I could not have solved; for I know nothing of the facts. I read no newspaper now but Ritchie’s, and in that chiefly the advertisements, for they contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper.” Thomas Jefferson ~ This quote is included in a letter Mr. Jefferson wrote to Nathaniel Macon on January 19, 1819. It begins with another entertaining thought: “Dear Sir The problem you had wished to propose to me was one which I could not have solved; for I know nothing of the facts. I read no newspaper now but Ritchie’s, and in that chiefly the advertisements, for they contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper.” Links are included in a blog post, “A Real Jefferson Quote.” ~ Do these rules apply to comments? I had to delete a comment, because I did not have a title. Then I noticed that comments to not have a place for titles or images. ~ “Dear Sir The problem you had wished to propose to me was one which I could not have solved; for I know nothing of the facts. I read no newspaper now but Ritchie’s, and in that chiefly the advertisements, for they contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper. … “Letter from Thomas Jefferson to Nathaniel Macon, January 12, 1819. ~ “the advertisements, for they contain the only truths to be relied on in a newspaper.” Thomas Jefferson [720×380] ~ @numarqs Just heard from my sources in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem that no one, not even Netanyahu’s own cabinet ministers are allowed to come close to him. They all have to go through extensive body security check. Apparently Bibi Netanyahu has reached extreme levels of paranoia about being knocked off by his own ministers. Oops. @jeff_kaye Perhaps Netanyahu recalls how on Oct 26, 1979, at a dinner at the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA) safehouse inside the Blue House presidential compound in Seoul, the director of the KCIA and the president’s security chief, Kim Jae-gyu, shot President Park Chung Hee in the head! @DannysInferno Well I, for one, won’t ever forget that evening. Desert was delayed and then abandoned but in light of the awful nature of Asian sweets that was a relief. ~ I pause the show. We just learned that “Claudia” is the mod for both the adult diaper forum, and christian teens together. The show has 23 minutes to go. ~ your comment in /r/IntellectualDarkWeb was automatically removed because your account’s total comment karma is less than 25. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns. ~ as @briebriejoy looks on in shock, @robbysoave makes a statement about Hamas: “They’re fighting with violence” ~ Matthew 7:21-23Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. ~ there is a time to speak out, and a time to shut up. often, more speaking out translates into more noise I feel helpless to stop the slaughter. I also fear that Israel may be hurting herself worse than the Palestinians. ~ “They’re fighting with violence” ~ @mtracey This relentless confection of a fake anti-Semitism panic while Gaza gets obliterated with US munitions is an all-time brazen propaganda coup. You really do have to admire the sheer audacity ~ “Beyond the Peacock: The Reconstruction of Flannery O’Connor.” ~ “Take what you can use and let the rest rot.” Alice Walker ~ pictures today are from The Library of Congress ~ selah
