Titanic Decline

Me in a canoe/ /not a pretty sight but the//water beckons me
It’s Easter morning//peeps, chocolate, jelly beans//get my attention.
On this date the ship//weighed anchor for the last time//it’s the Titanic.
Saw a stone circle//in a farmer’s field — heifers//stood and stared at me.
Remove knee-y bits//replace with metal. Like that//Pop’s got a new joint.
I’m trapped in Ireland//volcanic ash cloud keeps me//from my Freeville home.
The above is from The Haiku Diaries. Pictures from the Library of Congress.
