PG was watching the clock in the corner of the screen digitize into another day. He selected “novelty” at the Free Music Archive and thought he was at an Albanian circus. The last blog on his blogroll was “World Class Stupid“, and  the last shall be first.

World Class Stupid is the product of a man named Roman Hans. He is six foot eight inches tall and lives in Brooklyn. He tells great stories. The good news is, WCS directed me to Lisa Nichols. She is going to change your life, as soon as she gets a credit card number.

For $327.00, you get a deluxe package of cd’s, flash cards, and other neat stuff. As the ad says
“Two Fast Finish CDs to accelerate your learning. On these two CDs you will be able to listen to the Coaching CDs from the Main Course at a super-rapid pace, making it easier to review the material and imprint it into your inner, genius mind.”
World Class Stupid is inspired, and is going to write his own motivational program. As soon as the kickback is arranged, PG will post a link.

This has been a very good week for the stats at Chamblee54. There was grumbling about the uneven coverage of two high profile murders. PG decided to compare this to the coverage given a murder reported at the local fishwrapper. The local murder story did not take long to find.

Bill O’Reilly, our national arbiter of morals, has said he will report more on the coverage of the high profile shootings. If you have cable and patience, you will know how to find him. It is highly unlikely he will report the coverage of the third murder, or any of the other “senseless” killings this week in our gun happy society.

Last night in Atlanta, two more people became statistics. According to the Fishwrapper:” 34-year-old Aundra Reynolds was shot and killed in an apparent attempted robbery while sitting inside his Dodge Durango truck at the Forest Cove Apartments off New Town Circle in Southeast Atlanta… it appears the killer was seated on the passenger side of the vehicle when the shooting occurred, “

In and apparently unrelated incident, a man was found with multiple gunshot wounds on Woodland Avenue. This is off rowdy Cheshire Bridge Road. The unidentified man died at Grady Hospital. There is no word of coverage on either CNN or Fox news.

How different our world would be, if we heeded the advice of this message/Time For G-d/ Read only if you have time for G-d/ Let me tell you, make sure you read all the way to the bottom/ I almost deleted this email but I was blessed when I got to the end/ G-d, when I received this e-mail,
I thought…I don’t have time for this… And, this is really inappropriate during work/Then, I realized that this kind of thinking is… Exactly, what has caused  a lot of the problems in our world today/We try to keep G-d in church on Sunday morning../Maybe, Sunday night…/And, the unlikely event of a midweek service/We do like to have Him around during sickness…/And, of course, at funerals/However, we don’t have time, or room, for Him during work or play…Because.. That’s the part of our lives we think… We can,and should, handle on our own/May G-d forgive me for ever thinking…/That… There is a time or place where../ HE is not to be FIRST in my life/We should always have time to remember all HE has done for us/If, You aren’t ashamed to do this…Please follow the directions/Jesus said, ‘If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.’/Not ashamed?/Pass this on ONLY IF YOU MEAN IT!!/ Yes, ….. I DO Love  G-d./HE is my source of existence and Savior./ He keeps me functioning each and every day./Without Him, I will be nothing. But, with Christ, HE strengthens me. (Phil 4:13)/This is the simplest test../If You Love G-d…/ And, are not ashamed of all the marvelous things HE has done for you…/Send this to ten people and the person who sent it to you!/Now do you have the time to pass it on?/Make sure that you scroll through to the end/Easy vs. Hard/Why is it so hard to tell the truth but Yet so easy to tell a lie?/Why are we so sleepy in church but Right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?/Why is it so easy to delete a G-dly e-mail, but yet we forward all of the nasty ones?/Of all the free gifts we may receive, Prayer is the very best one…../There are no costs, but wonderful rewards…. G-d BLESS!/Notes: Isn’t it funny how simple it is for people to trash G-d and then wonder what’s going wrong with the world?/Isn’t it funny how someone can say ‘I believe in G-d’ but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also ‘believes’ in G-d)/Isn’t it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing?/Isn’t it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them /Isn’t it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what G-d thinks of me/I pray, for everyone who sends this to their entire address book, they will be blessed by G-d in a way special for them/And send it back to the person who sent it, to let them know that indeed it was sent out to many more/

Murder Cairo Code Pink

It has been a week. A plane with a lot of people fell out of the sky. The various governments have been very quiet, the way governments are when there is something to cover up. There is now speculation that UFOs were involved. While this may seem a bit flaky, it makes as much sense as some of the other stories.

The attempt to jumpstart the mercifully quiet career of eminem continues. That was not a UFO that landed on his face during the MTV awards, although questions about the origin of Borat/Bruno are to be expected.

Another media personality that will not go away was featured at another blog. Sarah Palin gave a speech, introducing Michael Reagan. If you have too much free time….

One of those pesky blogs has a series about President Reagan this week. The lead quote:“He was an actor, and he understood there was somebody who planned the lighting, somebody who built the set and wrote the script.” Like Spencer Tracy said, Remember your lines and don’t trip over the props. Dick Van Dyke only heard the first part.

Meanwhile, in Cairo, the Reagan of the new age gave a speech. BHO has this thing about blockbuster speeches. While America is getting bored, the rest of the world is a fresh audience. If this speech does for USA-Islam relations what his race speech did for black-white relations…

A blogger called Sandmonkey copped a ticket to the Cairo speech. His take:
“The speech was everything was expected and more. The guy achieved his goals and executed it effectively and brilliantly. It was big on comfort and platitudes, and short on substance, but really, what does one expect other than that from an Obama speech? If you are going to see Obama, you are going to watch an expert showman. Just don’t expect much beyond entertainment.”
SM then left the hall, and was confronted with the spectacle of code pink. The ladies were carrying signs about Israeli conduct in Gaza. This might be more appropriate than you think, considering the help Egypt has given Israel in Gaza Roast. And some still say that Israel is the only ally America has in the Middle East.

There is  more to report, but between the internet, cable television, and the surviving newspapers, Chamblee 54 is confident you can keep up. If you choose to go to New Bethel Church in Louisville, Ky, Pastor Ken Pagano has organized an “Open Carry Celebration“. You are encouraged to bring a handgun to church. No one is speculating what impact this will have on the offering.

There is a post at Obsidian Wings about two of the three murders. It is about the responsibility of those who denounce abortion in the most inflammatory manner possible. Certainly, there has been tons of purple prose produced by the anti abortion people over the last thirty years. At what point does this translate into the murder of George Tiller?

Much of what PG has read this week has been along the lines of we denounce violence, but abortion is still horrible. When the bile monger is the Roman Pedophile Church, the hypocrisy scorekeepers have to work overtime to keep up.

The post at OW then turns to the murder of the army recruiter William Long. The trigger was apparently pulled by a crazed Muslim convert, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad. Are all Muslims and peace activists supposed to denounce this murder? The moral statistics are a bit fuzzy here as well. This act of violence is directed at the Army, whose reason for being is killing.

What the post at OW does not mention is the third murder considered this week. The killing of Shani Fecht was the sort of “routine” killing that goes without notice. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the alleged killer said after his arrest
“Can I ask you a question? Am I going away for a long time? If I do go away for a long time, I would like it [to] be in a hospital.”
This alleged killer is Zeke Cordell, the 18 year old son of Mrs. Fecht.

Who is supposed to denounce this killing? Those who advocate for the “right” of an apparently disturbed teenager to have access to a rifle? Or, maybe teenagers who have fights with their mother.

Another thing to ponder about these murders is the changes that will come about as a result. Will women quit getting pregnant, and having abortions? Will the anti abortion crowd tone down it’s rhetoric? Will the War in Babylon stop? Will teenagers get along with their parents? Or, could it be that, truly, they were “meaningless” acts of violence?

There is a post at avitable saying “You are a life blogger”. There is the result of a quiz about “what kind of blogger you are”at blogthings.

For the record, PG is a pundit blogger. The drivel written about this is probably somewhere in this post. If the test had said Pundit Goober, that might have been accurate, and PG could stand for it.

These blog tests are all multiple choice, which makes it possible to grade and classify fast. The problem with this is, you choose the least of the evils. Of the seven questions and forty two possible answers on this test, PG had confidence in zero.

Question six is good for an example.
Your biggest blogging pet peeve is:… Bloggers who play pretend nice with one another to get more traffic//Bloggers who never share anything about themselves//Boring blogs about politics or news//Filler blog posts that are lacking in content//Anonymous blogs that your friends may be hiding from you//People who don’t have enough interesting links in their posts.
The process of elimination yielded “Boring posts about politics or news“, but those are easy to skip over. If a blog bores PG , he quits visiting. To PG, a far worse offense is auto start music players. Those are the work of the devil.

At the end of the test, there was a place to click and have the results posted on Facebook. PG sees these test results everyday, along with mafia wars and other such nonsense. Maybe the correct answer to number six is tmi mongers who assume that you are interested.

More About The Murders

Yesterday, this blog wrote about uneven coverage of murders. Today, there is more information about the lady in the Isuzu.

Alexander E. Cordell, 18, of 8600 Roberts Drive, is being charged with murder in the death of his mother, 40-year-old Shani D. Fecht.
Fecht was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in her Isuzu Rodeo near Cordell’s apartment complex, police said.

For more information about George Tiller or William Long, check the corporate media.

There is a lot of talk about crime these days. Statistics say it is down, but that doesn’t help if the person hit is you. There is talk about the right to bear arms, and the availability of deadly weapons. If Alexander Cordell did not have access to a weapon, his mother would probably be alive today.

On the other hand, if Shani Fecht had chosen to get an abortion, Alexander Cordell would never have lived. Today would be another day in the life for Ms. Fecht. PG does not claim to know the answers.

Three Murders

This is a story about three murders. Two are getting a lot of publicity. One you probably have not heard about. Who is to say which is the most important.

Unless you live under a rock, you have heard about George Tiller. He performed abortions. Bill O’Reilly denounced him on national television dozens of times. He was shot in church sunday.

In Little Rock AK tuesday, a man called Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad opened fire at a military recruiting center. Mr. Muhammad was a convert to Islam, formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe. William Long died as a result of the shooting.

A bit closer to home was this story:
“A woman was found shot to death Tuesday in a silver Isuzu Rodeo in north Sandy Springs, police said. The victim was found around 2:30 p.m. in the vehicle on Roberts Drive, between The Preserve at Dunwoody and Hunters Glen apartment complexes. Lt. Steve Rose said several witnesses were being interviewed by police, and more information would be released soon.”
PG stopped by the web home of Centurion today, and found this story:
“Two killers, two victims. One murder gets twice as many national news stories than the other.“ There was a link to a site called newsbusters, with the motto : “Exposing & Combating Liberal Media Bias”.
The story at newsbusters detailed the number of google news stories about Mr. Tiller and Mr. Long. The demise of Mr. Tiller got a lot more attention than the story of Mr. Long. There was no mention of the lady in the silver Isuzu.

The comments continue to accrue at  BEattitude. PG feels obligated to milk this for one more post.
On saturday, PG made a comment. With a bit of procrastination and luck, he would have been comment number 666.  The liquor store in the pictures has gone out of business. Such is life.
PG is well aware that posting this comment contradicts line three. If you cannot read a yellow font, highlight it with your mouse.

You are up to 642 comments. I am impressed, and just a bit envious. There are a lot of people with nothing better to do on a glorious late spring saturday than argue about religion.
I have a few random thoughts to throw in.

1- The first and third commandments are very underrated, and much violated by Jesus Worshipers. At the very least, to take a text like the Bible and call it the word of G-d is a violation of the first commandment. The holy trinity business is another rupture of the first commandment. And when preaching results in ill will, that is a violation of the third commandment. The third commandment is more than G-d’s last name.

2. I see G-d as being like the elements…earth, air, fire, and water.I think the issue is not to believe or not believe, but in how you conceive G-d. I could be very wrong about this, but this works for me. It takes a little while away from Jesus Worship culture to not see religion in those terms.

3- I tend to suffer from what I call “Jesus Fatigue”. Tired of the wrangling, tired of the personal attacks from those who disagree, tired of speculation about life after death, just plain tired. I see something like this and realize that I have heard almost all of these arguments before, and they don’t make any more sense this time.

4- Jesus Worship is a religion of beliefs rather than practices. These beliefs are based on a book, which is considered the “word of G-d”. This foundation tends to lead to these endless arguments, and the anger and alienation that comes with them.

5- I see Jesus in the words and deeds of those who believe in him. He is a spirit that lives in these believers. This spirit shares little more than a name with the Jew who lived in Palestine 2k years ago. The historic Jesus was killed because he was a troublemaker. His death and reputed resurrection has nothing to do with what happens to me when I die.

6- Send some of those readers and commenters to my blog. I need the traffic. Thank you for making the effort. As Jesus might/might not have said “Forgive them Father, they know not what they do”.

This bit of hypocrisy did generate a reply.

Ah a breathe of fresh air. here is a One Minute Wisdom from Anthony De Mello to go along with your 6th, it made me tear up when I read it:
“How shall i get the grace of never judging my neighbor?” “Through prayer.” “Then why have i not found it yet?” “Because you haven’t prayed in the right place.” “Where is that?” “In the heart of God.” “And how do I get there?” “Understand that anyone who sins does not know what he is doing and deserves to be forgiven”
